“Don’t be thinking your gunna get luckily with me tonight my sweet, this mans married to his work”, "I'm not that drunk!" Indigo laughed pushing back her hair that was roaming free instead of being on a tidy ponytail like it usually was. “You know, I admire you, I always wanted to be a soldier, a hero of some kinds, guess things don’t happen like we want them to….” Indi glanced at him, her smiled faded away. "Right. A hero. The other side of it is that you have to kill to be a hero. Kill a lot of things. Kill fathers and mothers and even children. Do that for years and soon you won't feel a thing doing it. Then you dunno which is worse, not being able to feel or being able to feel. Yet again....being a soldier is what I was born to do. I'm a born butcher." She smirked again. Indigo saw her front door and let go of the man walking her. She leaned against her familiar home door, feeling glad about finally getting to sleep in her own bed. "Thanks for the ride man." She saluted him and opened the door. |
