“I’ll be fine, thanks for the abstinence. Indigo right?”

Seriously, was she supposed to remember this man? Had indigo talked to him? He did seem familiar in some vague way. "It's my job...rrright." She was about to ask the man if she knew him but then it hit her. He was someone she had met at the bar. Hopefully she hadn't done something too idiotic with him. Usually she didn't mess up while drunk but...first time is the first time. Could happen. No need to deny that. It's a fact of life. Never say never. Indigo managed to place the man at the bar but his name she couldn't remember at all. It had gotten wiped off her mind.

The guard gagged the murderer. "Should cut out his tongue. Wouldn't hiss out his spells ever again." Indigo muttered and this made horror flash in the man's eyes. Then it was back to angry glaring. Other guards arrived with smiles on their faces. From the corner of her eye she also spotted her fellow soldiers. Instead of joining the crowd they turned away. Most likely they just wanted to go back to bed. She didn't blame them. They had all had some training that day, it had been exhausting. Indi's thoughts were interrupted by a firm pat one of the guards gave her, congratulating on catching the criminal. She grunted as a reply and after few seconds she forced up a faint smile. Indigo looked down at her spear and felt the energy from it flow back within her, through the hand she had squeezed around the weapon. The claw-like blades retrieved along the needle. Now the spear looked like a mere mechanic staff.

The guard who she had been at the bar with returned to the crowd. She studied his face. Then Indi's eyes wandered to rest of his body, where she had seen the skin abnormalities. They were too familiar to look at for Indigo. After all she had suffered damage too. Only difference was that she had cut off most of it. To the medic she had explained the enemy had wounded her. But she sure knew what damage due to void magic looked like. Well, it was not her business. She looked up again. "You were at the bar, weren't you?" She squinted slightly.
