"Death doesn't have to be grim," he explained with an open-palmed gesture as he made his way down. It wasn't any trouble at all. It just looked a little strange going backwards with his bottom half. "We only fear it because we don't understand it. When someone around me dies, I always think 'they get to know what lies beyond before I do. How lucky.' It really is the greatest adventure of all. And think of this. Every time someone dies, a child is born. It's quite possible that that child might not have been born if the extra living space hadn't been given." Early eighties. That was one thing he knew about elves - they live a very long time. That, and they're pretty. Everything else would have to be researched. When she stopped, so did he on the second to last step. His tail and all of its markings were laid out, draping all over the ground. This would most likely be the best time to see just how huge it was. No doubt, it hid beneath its scales some massive power. "Gender?" he blinked. "Okay. Well. I like elven women with green eyes and medium-dark hair. She would have to be very polite and considerate." He beamed. Surely she knew that, though. "I'm kidding. Well, I'm not, but I don't suppose that would be the answer you're looking for. I am heterosexual. Race doesn't matter a whole lot, as long as they show some kind of "humanity". I guess I'm naturally attracted to the kind of look I grew up with, which would mean graceful women. Female Basilisks, you know, move very well. Posture is important. I can't be with a lover who doesn't show respect for themselves and their bodies. They have to be civil and courteous, but when we are alone, I would like someone to play with who doesn't mind opening up completely to me. Still, I like a female that can always surprise me. Backgrounds don't matter, as long as she has atoned for whatever harm she has done to anyone in the past. I think that's about it. Oh! And she has to have enough time on her hands to love me." A lop-sided smile grew. "Not many people think about that, but I don't think it's very healthy if you don't see each other often." He slithered down and around her, looking out at the city. He had entered the temple from another door. This was a picture he had not yet seen. A gentle breeze met him like an old friend. "Mm," he glanced towards the base of his tail, noting how corrupted the ground was here at the entrance of a holy place. Quickly, he made a scan of his surroundings to locate what exactly he would be able to exchange to give this entrance a gift. There wasn't much around save for stone and concrete. Ah yes. The stone. Arcadian moved until he was beside the staircase. When he had arrive, he delicately placed his hand on the ground and closed his eyes. A very serene look was adopted on his features. His head began to feel light as tiny green vines began uncurling from beneath his fingertips. The vines spread quickly, crawling up the side of the staircase, blossoming these exotic violet flowers. Soon the ugly stone path, cracked and worn from the exchange, was covered in beautiful greens. Almost immediately the entrance began to look much more elegant and ancient. "I place of the Gods ought to look less impersonal, don't you think?" he opened his eyes, wearing the same expression, only a bit more tired. "I have a bad feeling about this city's beliefs. If a person were to love and be loved by the Gods, I don't think I'd be seeing such sad faces here and there..." Arcadian joined Lilly once more, and gestured for her to continue. "It was my turn, wasn't it? Alright... Besides your home, where is your favorite place to be in the city?" ----- (Hope I did the magic thing alright. First time n' all.) |
