Currently the local guards in the area where in search of a murder, who had only a few hours ago been witness to have murdered his wife outside their home. Most of the guards were roaming the streets, standing at corners, keeping watch, while a small group luckily were in pursuit of the murder and could be seen charging down Kite street. A quite location at this time of day but still a successful one.

The criminal was a head of the guards, his body rapped in dark brown robes, his hood pulled tightly over his face, hiding his features behind a vial of shadow. His left hand grasped tightly to a mace which hung from the leather of his belt. His feet could be heard from a distances as his bare souls slapped against the soft dirt lane.

With a grunt Logan stood his ground in the path of the incoming criminal. Grinding his teeth, he grasped the hard grip of his sword handle and with a smooth movement, tore the blade free from it’s sheath, letting out a heavy hissing noise as the blade cut though the air.

With a great gulp of air, Logan began to mutter under his breath, uttering praise to the greater power and demanding strength from the void as he clasped both hands around his sword and raised the blade in the direction of the incoming foe.

A leach of heat, shot though the air, causing local clothes and flags to flail madly. In a sudden explosion of liquid flame, a figure of flame roared from the dusty ground before Logan. His body taking the form of a mighty bear, his size growing my the minute as he fed the flame with the void. His skin began to inch and ache, small cuts and sours formed up on his legs and chest while the air around him grew chilled and bitter. His fingers began to feel numb from the lack of heat and that was where he decided to break about from the spell and bring forth his attack upon the criminal.

In the next few moments, Logan lurched forward from behind his blazing elemental to confront the now fearful looking criminal before him. In his own defence the foe raised his mace, blocking the heavy slash of his blade by was to slow to evade Logan’s fist as he rapped itself against his jaw line, knocking him back as few steps.

Seeing no way out and fearing imprisonment, the criminal lurched forward and swung at Logan.

Logan’s body stood motionless, his weapon raised in defence. His loose red and white uniform fluttering in the wind, his armour glinting in the high sun light, a smile licking his lips.

With a roar his fire elementals paw ripped passed his shoulder, slamming into the incoming attack and raising the maces temperature heavily. The hulking beast stood over Logan, defensive and protective of it’s master. Logan stood in it’s wake, his body starting to drip with sweat from the intense heat.

Indigo tightened her grip on the black metal spear she was holding. Her armor clung slightly as she got up after checking the ground for traces. She kicked the dirt concurring she knew where the prey was heading. The prey was a criminal. Few soldiers had been sent to aid the guards on catching the cursed murderer. She had no idea where others were but she guessed they'd find the traces eventually too. Indigo raised her masked face. A black scarf covered her lower chin and nose, protecting her from breathing any dust. Her arms were covered by shielding bracelets with hooked blades on them, ready to tear the flesh of an enemy. Her hands were shielded with plates causing them to look like metallic bird talons. No stronger shelter was necessary in this case. She was like a beast, there just to kill the one she was after. Soldiers were most commonly called only if they wanted something dead. Everyone knew soldiers were pure butchers. No criminal wanted to have them hunt them down.

She calmly walked down the road. Indigo heard noise, indicating a struggle. Someone had gotten to the criminal before her. She was in no hurry either way. Soon the scene was right before her. A guard confronting the criminal. Indigo stopped, assessing the situation. The fear in the murderer's eyes only made her crave for his blood more. Her black armor dimly glowed in the light caused by magic. She smiled at the battle in front of her. Her black robe moved along the wind as she just stood there. Finally she made her move. Indigo needed no words as the power of fire flowed to her spear through her hand, activating her weapon. She raised it slightly, watching it change it's form. Three sharp blades, like a fist of claws, shot out from the tip. From the middle of this deadly fist, a long needle-like spike slowly pushed up. Indigo wasn't a peace maker but when it came to small criminals like this one people usually wanted them alive. "Stop!" She roared. The material of her scarf made her sound almost mechanic and inhuman. Not to mention loud.

Who did she direct her roar to? Both of them, maybe none of them. She didn't care. Either the murderer was captured alive or not. Her spear was raised. She was ready to cast a spell, she was ready to swing the deadly weapon towards the criminal...hell even towards the guard if he'd get in the way. Last chance to stop for the murderer.

Logan drove forward with his shoulder, letting it knock below his foes ribs as he dropped down low, his sword tip clipping the ground as he moved, cutting s groove in the dirt.

With a grunt the man buckled over, his wind knocked out of him as he was stuck hard in the stomach. With a stagger he regained his footing and rose his mace above his head and struck it down hard at Logan but luckily the blow was clumsy and misdirected. The lump of street cracked against his shoulders armour, buckling the metal into his shoulder and pressing the armour into his flesh.

A sudden voice arose from close by crying for them to stop. There was little time to pay attention, seeing as his foe was currently doubled over him, his weapon ready to strike once again if given the chance. Skull crushed to a pump, left in the street for the dogs.

With a roar of his own he threw himself upright, letting the top of his head crack under the mans chin and tumbling over with a mouth full of blood and a few broke teeth. Rushing around him, his fire elemental bolted toward the fallen foe and threw itself toward him with all its blazing strength but was suddenly destroyed in a explosion of furious flames which were thrown back in Logan’s direction. Shielding his face and body best he could, he was momentarily engulf in flames from the destruction of his elemental.

Luckily he had only suffered a few burns and only part of his right sleeve had caught a light. In a which attempted to save himself, he stagger away and grasped the binding of his armour and released the catches, letting the heated metal clash to the floor. He held tight hold of his blade while he tore at his right sleeve and finally tore it free, revealing area’s of damaged flesh, some burned other holding older scars. Grinning his teeth in pain he returned his gaze toward his foe who was clambering to his feet and stank of void magic, someone had a few tricks under their sleeve.

Indigo narrowed her eyes and calmly walked towards the two men. Neither the guard nor the man had obeyed her command, now it was the time to get in there. She rolled the spear in her hand. Adrenaline started to run in her veins like a flowing river. Her heart beat was getting faster. Obey the command. Or die. She let out a growl of discontent. The guard was struggling to beat the murderer. An honorable thing to do, stay and fight. But it was also foolish. It's time. Her feet moved in faster pace now. Faster. Faster till she was running. Charging. There was no turning back now. The pathetic murderer would go down one way or another. She didn't fear the man. To her eyes he truly was pathetic. He was dirt of the ground. He is going to use void magic. He's an idiot.

Once Indigo was close enough she smashed the end of the spear to the ground. The dust was everywhere, smoke, smell of burnt flesh and fabric. With the help of the speed she had gained and the spear she was using as a support, she jumped into the air, kicking the criminal who hadn't seen her coming through the dust. Quickly she raised her weapon again and directed her hand at the murderer who stared at her smooth movement baffled and angry. Was that fear she saw? She muttered out a few words and a wave of energy erupted from her open palm, exploding at the man's face as a fiery orb. Indigo was not happy having to meddle into this fight but she did what had been ordered. Preference was alive for this prey and the guard was an undefined factor; he could kill the prey. The element of surprise was now behind her. The murderer screamed in pain and anger. Something told her he wouldn't give up. He was insane enough to try another attack. Indigo raised her spear, ready to pierce the man with the needle that was now glowing red in heat.

Logan stood alone to one side, his eyes drawn toward the conflict before. He stared hard at the scene before him, his stance became still and he watched in silence for a moment to see how things played out. This eyes flickered for a moment as the spell was cast and all seemed over, but as the man screamed in pain she rose her spear and readied herself for the final blow.

He wasn’t a fool, he knew the reason a soldier would have been sent out to help, he knew her business was to finish him but could be just stand there and watch?

Taking a deep breath he scrambled forward, kicking up dirt as he rushed forward, the toes of his boots kicking hard into the ground and he rushed up behind the soldier. With a heave he tossed his body weight forward and let himself drift thought the air at a high speed. In a sudden clash of bodies he came hurling into the back of the girl and down on top of the man with a thump. It appeared he couldn’t just watch her kill him.

Indigo tumbled forward as she felt something crash against her back. "Umpf!!!" It was a total surprise for her. She lost her balance for a second and almost fell after the thing that had hit her as it rolled over her shoulder. She tensed her muscles, pushing herself to find balance again. A soldier shouldn't fall on her face, or on her ass. She stepped backwards, finding her way to stay up. Adrenaline was making her anxious. She was gasping as her hear beat was still fast.

Indigo's dark eyes stared at the thing hitting her and she directed her spear towards it. Maybe it was there to aid the killer. He would deserve to die. Like the rest of the pathetic creatures. She was close to striking it till she realized it was the guard. What in the name of Aragos!? She paused, like she had hit an invisible wall. Indigo frowned and drew down the scarf that had covered most of her face. "Are you going to get out of the way?" She growled moving her weapon to the side only slightly. The needle was still glowing red, a fading trace of smoke rose from it. She was still ready to strike. She wouldn't hesitate killing the guard either if she saw it was necessary. So far she saw no reason. But it was odd that one would throw themselves to shield the enemy. "You actually shield that...thing?" She wasn't planning on killing the murderer but she'd like to have it as an option if he made a bad move. Now, there was a guard between her an her prey, making things complicated.

Logan came down hard on the man. Trying to regain control of the situation he quickly grasped his sword and went to throw himself upon the criminal and pin him but he was faced with a glowing spear head aided toward his face.

"You actually shield that...thing?"

“That thing will face the royal Inquisitors and be punished for his crimes, not slain here”, Logan grunted as he tightened his grip on his blade and a grim look appeared on his ruff looking mug. Being sent to the The Royal Inquisitors could be classed as worse than getting murdered. Death was final, disfigurement and crippling last for life.

“Fuck I’m not going there”, the man cried as he struggled to get himself fro under neither Logan’s body weight. Logan couldn’t afford to set idle with this fella under him for long before the man stuck off another one of his spells.

Taking a chance, he glanced back at the man and threw his elbow back into the mans face, cracking him in the teeth, causing further damage to the mans teeth. A wail of pain came from the man as his head rolled back and struck the ground, blood now leaked from his nose and mouth, bubbling and thick down his cheeks. Now up close it was viewable, the making of void use, like those on Logan’s now bare arm.

In that moment, Logan realised who stood before him. The drinker from the last night.

Indigo shook her head slightly and sighed. She backed up a step and allowed the end of the spear rest against the ground. The guard threw his elbow at the killer's face. She glanced down at the two men, looking calm but the butcher's glow was radiating from her. She threw a glance at the glowing needle on her spear, "You want to get pierced by this instead? I promise to make it extra painful." she said to the whining criminal. His face flinched as he startled the thought of getting killed by the needle. The royal inquisitors were horrible for men like him but so was a painful spear too.

"Alright. Get up. Both of you." She sighed, again she was ready to give the murderer a beating with her spear. Though doubt he would try anything anymore. She frowned slightly at the guard. He seemed somehow familiar. Unfortunately she couldn't say why. Then she glances at the traces of abnormalities on his skin. Void use? She didn't say anything about it but looked at the criminal again, keeping an closer eye on him. "You need any medical attention?" She asked the guard.

Logan took a moment, he glanced about and set is eyes on the now nearing guards, who had broken from their jog into a slow walk seeing as was clear and giving themselves a moment or two to regain their breath.

With a heave he pulled himself to his feet and turn to grasp the criminal by the scuff of his neck and pulled him up on to his feet. The man clearly wasn’t going to put up much more of a fight seeing as his legs were almost giving out from under him due to the blow to the head.

"You need any medical attention?"

“I’ll be fine, thanks for the abstinence. Indigo right?”, Logan asked as he drew out a length of rope from his belt and tied the mans hands quickly and gagged him with a bit of cloth to stop him casting any more spells. The man seemed to be in some discomfort, most liking his broken teeth pressing against the cloth wasn’t a pleasant feeling.

The rest of the local guards came up, warm smiles on their faces congratulating the pair of them on a good job and taking a hold of the criminal , while Logan moved off toward his body armour in the dirt. He was careful to pull his arm out of sight from the other guards to avoid attention. With a smooth action he slipped his arm up inside and carried it back toward the others, letting the armour cover his bare flesh.

“I’ll be fine, thanks for the abstinence. Indigo right?”

Seriously, was she supposed to remember this man? Had indigo talked to him? He did seem familiar in some vague way. "It's my job...rrright." She was about to ask the man if she knew him but then it hit her. He was someone she had met at the bar. Hopefully she hadn't done something too idiotic with him. Usually she didn't mess up while drunk but...first time is the first time. Could happen. No need to deny that. It's a fact of life. Never say never. Indigo managed to place the man at the bar but his name she couldn't remember at all. It had gotten wiped off her mind.

The guard gagged the murderer. "Should cut out his tongue. Wouldn't hiss out his spells ever again." Indigo muttered and this made horror flash in the man's eyes. Then it was back to angry glaring. Other guards arrived with smiles on their faces. From the corner of her eye she also spotted her fellow soldiers. Instead of joining the crowd they turned away. Most likely they just wanted to go back to bed. She didn't blame them. They had all had some training that day, it had been exhausting. Indi's thoughts were interrupted by a firm pat one of the guards gave her, congratulating on catching the criminal. She grunted as a reply and after few seconds she forced up a faint smile. Indigo looked down at her spear and felt the energy from it flow back within her, through the hand she had squeezed around the weapon. The claw-like blades retrieved along the needle. Now the spear looked like a mere mechanic staff.

The guard who she had been at the bar with returned to the crowd. She studied his face. Then Indi's eyes wandered to rest of his body, where she had seen the skin abnormalities. They were too familiar to look at for Indigo. After all she had suffered damage too. Only difference was that she had cut off most of it. To the medic she had explained the enemy had wounded her. But she sure knew what damage due to void magic looked like. Well, it was not her business. She looked up again. "You were at the bar, weren't you?" She squinted slightly.

"You were at the bar, weren't you?"

“Right you are”, Logan replied as he made his way back to the group. He glanced in the direction of the others and nodded lightly, smiling softly but received some almost forced smiles in his own direction due to the rumours that flowed around him and his wife. “Congratulation on a job well done”, one of the guards muttered.

“Guess you better get him off to he royal Inquisitors”, Logan ordered the other men in order to break the tension between himself and the other officers.

His eyes flicked off in the direction of the House of Justice, where criminals were dealt with. The building was always a horrific site in Logan’s eyes, a place where he believed he would one days stand under trial, beaten into confession, only to be slammed into a cell for the rest of his days.

A sudden message arose in the wind which whirled around the ground. A decrepit voice spoke aloud for all to hear. The message was only one way. Logan Longley, you have been granted a audience by Arch Inquisitor Banza in the House of Justice. It appears I’ll be floating face down in the docks soon enough, nice way to go, he though to himself in a crooked smile.

“Interested in coming?”, Logan asked lightly toward the soldier.

Indigo looked at the other guards who seemed somehow cautious of the drinking buddy. She didn't care too much but did note this fact. It was always a sign of something going on and for a soldier it was good to make notes like that. It was her second nature.

Logan Longley, you have been granted a audience by Arch Inquisitor Banza in the House of Justice.

“Interested in coming?”

Indi glanced at him and snorted. "Anything involved with inquisitors gives me the creeps. I can kill twenty people under an hour but spending that time with an inquisitor...yeah, creeps." Her lips turned to a painful grin as she thought about it. "Understand why I'm hesitant?" The other guards grabbed the criminal, leaving the two. They seemed happy to get away from Logan. Kind of made her feel pity. "But....yet again, I don't have anything particular to do. Sometimes inquisitors do amuse me with their behavior." She muttered seeming ponderous.

“Think how I feel, I often have to give prisoners over to them, less time spent their the better”, he said as a grim look curled round his lips. Nothing better than to go visit the inquisitors to brighten your mood yet he had to obey seeing as Arch Inquisitor Banza was a highly respected figure in society, even if that respect was mostly produced from fear.

"But....yet again, I don't have anything particular to do. Sometimes inquisitors do amuse me with their behaviour."

“Good, the company is welcome and they may even have some work for you, capturing criminals is part of their trade”, Logan added with a small smile as he straightened his back and let the bones lightly click. “Sorry about tackling you by the way”, he finished with as he began a hasty walk off toward the horrify sight of the House of Justice.
