"Knight of Istria, distract that foul creature! Gather all you can and distract if you love everything you hold dear, but pray don't touch or go near to it. Hit it with all the spells and evrything if possible, coordinate with the other guards." Maximillian shouted as he took out a pistol like objects and shot at a high tower a small wire like rope. "I need to coordinate with the Minister and the officials. Distract it, you're in charge here now." Several young nobles who were with Maximillian volunteered to stay behind and help behind with the knight. Maximillian gave a few words to the nobles and took the the knights hand, "These nobles have elected to stay, they are powerful magic users of the 7th level discipline, they will aid you. I must make haste to coordinate with the ministers and the elder sages. Hold that thing at bay for as long as you can, I will try to coax the others to aid us. I trust you young man... if this goes well, I think you might find yourself in a good position. Tell me your name before I speed off." |

Logan Longley but congratulations can wait until this is over, now get to your business”, Logan ordered with some authority behind his voice this time. As at that moment the hulking mass that was Giggles lumbered onto the scene, his huge meaty hand clapping Logan on the side and pushing him to the side as he passed and weighted up his opponent with a grin as he twisted his massive blade in his grey hand. “A Appraheads…what use will he be?”, Logan mouthed to himself. His knowledge of the massive creatures were that they were caring beasts, who’s used their time for serving others, yet the might weapon in his fist showed some wares, maybe a brute of his race. A rare miracle indeed he thought to himself. “Alright lets do our best then”, Logan muttered to himself as he took a hesitated step forward toward the massive elemental. His body was soaked in sweat from his fire shield, his guts were turning with nerves and mass of vomit in fact was flushing straight into his mouth. With a cough and a spatter he threw up the content of his stomach. “Well there’s some grace for you” he mutter once more. Taking a final sign, he drew his head up and began to make his way forward toward the elementals, followed my a number of others with the same idea. The elemental shifted forms often, taking that of a raging bull, then the next the form of a troll. With each turn the beast let out flicks of liquid fire and tar like void magic. Taking a step forward, Logan cast Flash Step. Within a blink of a eye he was at the heal of the might creature, his flame shield roaring before him with the turn of his body, slamming into the legs of the best and burning away what substance it could touch. A screech roared though the air and the mess of burning flesh rose in the air as something in the beast was stuck. Giggles on the other hand was now ripping what appeared to be a party damaged statue from the grown and lifting it above his head. With a heave he launched the heavy mass toward the elementals. It twisted and turned though the air but was quickly smashed to the ground with vicious strength a back hand from the elemental. |

Maximillian was now running away from the grounds posthaste. He already had sent his hawk to summon reinforcements. As he sped off his mind darted between the people and the solution. He hoped he could be able to hold them back and give him a few moments. Maximillian Gennadius now was hoping his gamble will pay off. |

the beast was currently clubbing it’s mighty fist down upon Logan’s shield, sending sparks hurling into the air. Logan was fair below the inferno, his knee’s bend and his sword stabbed into the ground for support as he tried to defend himself best he could. In truth he had little chance against the creature. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Giggles at this point was enraged by the creatures display of power which challenged his own greatly. His great mass was already thumping along the ground as he drove himself toward the mass of flames, not looking to save Logan in any manner but in face simply inflict damage for his own self a steam. His body thumped into the side of the creature, but did little damage in truth, seeing as he rolled straight though the mass of fire and came out of the other end. His body was lightly burnt but his thick flesh and resistance to fire defending him from any lasting effects. He now rolled about wildly in what would have been the remains of the kings coffin or what was left of it. He thrashed about like a fish in water as he tried to regain him footing among the rubble. |

While the chaos below the ground continued to erupt, Maximillian along with several members of the Royal Intrepid Gentlemen's Club and a host of Mages from the Academy boarded all available airships and took to the skies. The High Lord of Nautilla knew that a fight with the beast on the ground would not go well if they did not employ tactics and such. Fighting on the ground would exhaust most of the people. The mages he brought specialized in sealing techniques. The host of ships gathered at a few moments notice were indeed incredible and it darkened the parade grounds. People were swarming like ants in disarray and every moment that past spelled greater casualties and disaster. Below, Maximillian surveyed that everyone who were engaging the monster were holding out but it would not last long. The Duke saw this type of monster before several years ago during his travels and as long as panic ensued it would feed on the emotions of every creature. It will continue to grow stronger and stronger every moment that pass and the people below did not know anything that their basic emotions and feelings. Swords and magic will not be of use once this abomination would gain enough footing. It was only to the few brave souls keeping the beast at bay that this event did not go astray. He also noticed that that several high ranking magic nobles calculated wrong and hitting the monster with useless spells. They mistook the monster for something. How quaint. What could have... No who could have done such a thing. The beast noticed the airships up above, and in an instant reacted in an instant, sending fire from its mouth hitting a few ships which miraculously stayed afloat even though the damage was great. Maximillian sent a signal to the other ships and their captains to let the first batch of mages to concentrate a barrier spell. The barrier spell was the first step. Aboard the Beautiful Crone, were several foreign Inquisitors. They specialized in Void magic. The plan was crude but it was the most effective in dealing with particular problem. He had seen several tribes from the Hintherlands do this with effect during his travels and it was worth the risk to use it now. The only problem would be the government's native imperturbability. Void magic to a historian like Maximillian, was not always viewed as such. Every mage, wizards and warlocks atop the ships above cast the first barrier spell. Maximillian gave a few orders to the first mate and sent the last messages to the other captains to continue the spell. Then he jumped to continue the job below. Free-falling down below he took a small machine and fired a hook at the highest steeple of one of the towers and made his way down back to the fray. The beast now was sealed but the bubble would not last long. Then the duke at the top of his voice ordered all capable to charge up on their spells and concentrate on hitting the beast on the inside. It was similar to an implosion. He explained this to a few high ranking mages and asked them to spread the word. This had better work, Maximillian though... or else Istria would have no choice but to level the Parade grounds. |
