Giggles stood in all his greatness. A heavy smile on his big face as his small brown eyes glanced out into the lands known as Three Farms to the south of the city. In a embracing expression, his arms spread out wide at his side, ready to embrace his long journey into the wilderness and toward battle.

Kitted out for his journey he wore what armour he had around his shoulders and thighs. The black metal sparked and flicked in the bright sun light. His chest was bare as always a part from the strap holding his might great sword to his back and the other straps holding his massive back pack to him huge body which was choc-a-bloke equipment for his long trek across the landscape.

Taking one final glance back his eyes ran over what he could see of the city he had called home and was happy to leave. His gaze settled upon the sky docks for a moment as he watch a vessel dropped and take flight into the great blue sky.

He’d miss a few things here but he was ready to meet some conflict in the south. He would most likely miss some of the war seeing as the others were travelling by ship but he would get his fair share, wars didn’t end over night you know.

Breaking from his stare he pushed towards and dropped onto all fours, his knuckles tapping the ground as he started to move toward along the dusty track, the knives around his waste rattling and clashing against one another with each stride.

Unaware already a small ragged looking dog was at his heels, most likely smelling the smoked bacon his back pack and hoping for a bit. With out realising it, Giggles kicked forward and broke into a trot, kicking up dirt and dust into the face of the mutt but not putting it off, it was quickly on his heels as they passed caravans and walking folk.

It was good to be back on the road. The small of the earth in his nostrils, the dirt belief his nails, the sweet on his back. It all felt so natural to him, even the strong stench of dung from the fields smells good to him, better than the stench of the city that is.

High above the cerulean skies, amidst the crimson streaked clouds, was a small airship, smaller than most of any airships registered in the area. It was her maiden voyage today and unlike most other maiden voyages that normal ships would undertake, this particular ship was plummeting at an alarming rate. The gears and nuts now crackled and popped with excitement as they begin to unscrew and the steam coming from the valves squeaked a malodorous stench which at this point in his whole existence, Maximillian Gennadius Worthington was wondering what did he eat the previous night. As it lost altitude increasingly, the man behind the wheel of the ship was scuttling all over the deck trying to find a very important thing, a thing so important that his life was meaningless without. His whole life depended upon that thing and his concern over the impending doom of his ship was waylayed, momentarily, as he looked over the cabins and decks, looking for his precious timepiece. As the ship reached a very discomforting level, Maximillian finally found his timepiece, attached it inside his vest and managed to philosophize a few things before a though came into his mind. That strain of thought was of course the realization that he, Maximillian, was testing his new theory, in his hastily constructed experimental ship which he had the pleasure of thinking over while sipping his tea a fortnight ago. The first thought having passed him over, dissipated quickly as another thought then came whistling deep into his consciousness. The scream that pierced the air reverberated throughout the surrounding areas of the city. But this scream that most heard was entirely, unbelievably normal to the the denizens residing near the outskirts. It was the scream of the eccentric Duke of Nautilla trying to do to save his ship from crashing into the lush green and golden fields below.

As the ship smoked and blew its scintillating smell of carbonized air, the pilot with all his might, steered the ship straight into an unfortunate pile of hay, where by some instance and stroke of fate, Maximillian could swear that he heard a yelp, a bark and a wheeze in that particular order before he heard his ship explode while he himself was hurled several furlongs away from the burning wreckage of oil, wood, hay and the smell of perfectly cooked, mouth watering canine meat.

Seeing this miracle came to pass, with only a few gash and scratches, Maximillian shouted in glee, "Darn it.", before a piece of his experimental engine, blew up, sending a well-aimed piece of bolt straight into his cranium, knocking him out cold.

After lumbering for a distance, Giggles slowed his paces as stitched crept into his side, forcing a uncomfortable slow pace to be made. With a huff he rose up onto his legs and let his thick arms swing heavily at his sides as he trekked onwards down the dusty brown track.

He had became aware of the dog at his heels for a time now, the mutt’s breathing was rather load and annoying, most likely tired from keeping up with his pace. Stupid uncultured creatures. He had tried waving it away, in shouting a bit but he didn’t get much more than a bark before it came back on his heels.

Drawing his attention from the road as he stumbled onwards, he drew his eyes up to the sky and gazed over the cloud splattered sky. White mostly from what he could see, rain wouldn’t come for a time but it would be rather refreshing seeing he had grown rather sweaty and dirty from the run but it was only going to get worse the further he went.

It watched idly for a moment as a spec burst from the cloud layer and plummeting down toward him at a alarming rate. He thought nothing of it at first but quickly his eyes grew large and a thick frown formed over his bony face. It was a ship, a small vessel, but a shit all the same. Suddenly realising events before him he went to retreat but saw the sudden change in movement as the pilot must have pulled up, with same haste he imaged. Strange the things that goes though ones mind in a moment of danger.

The vessel roared over head, while the following dog came toppling behind him into the back of his legs with a yelp. The dog quickly responded with a angry bark of anger just as Giggles let out a roll of angry coughing as a thick cloud of spoke from the vessel fell over himself and the dog.

It took some time for the smoke to clear and more time for Giggles to recover from a violent coughing fit. His throat was raw by this point and his skin prickly from the heat of the smoke. With a moment of confusion he staggered toward the vessel, the dog still on his heals.

Certainly was a vessel for sure he thought to himself with a smile as he moved closer to the ruins, even if it was a hell of walk to get there. Couldn’t say he much had the energy or the care to run there. Taking his time he clambered over the wreckage with some care not to burn himself while keeping a eye out for any signs of survivors.

Truth be told he was rather amazed to find a funny looking fella with a knock to the noggin with breathing. Taking a moment to create him over with his bit mitts he took a hold of the scuff of the fella’s neck and lifted him clean off the floor and set him down on stop of his back pack just behind his thick neck where the fella balanced rather well.

With a huff he turned and scrabbled off of the ship best he could and made his way into the golden fields and off toward the closed track he could see while on board the ship. Best find a healer he thought, best get someone who understand how to make these little humans tick.

Maximillian now drifted happily in what seemed to be a dreamlike state, very similar to what happened to him when he was initiated to a tribe of frog-licking aborigines from the deep southern continents. In that seemingly dreamlike state, however, Maximillian was already making changes to the design of his ship. Even in the realm of unconsciousness, Maximillian was always working. The smooth and gentle wave like experience carried him to his childhood days before suddenly realizing that everything was a dream. The following accounts are what happened during Maximillian's dreamlike state:

"Where am I"

"Butterflies? Butterflies! I love butterflies!"

"Wait a bloody minute."

"What"

"I'm too old to believe in such whimsical follies!"

"What happened?"

"A nut hit me."

"A nut?"

"Yes. A nut. It came hurtling towards me with the speed rivaling that of the titbird of K'gal."

"Then this is not real?"

"Logically, it is not."

"Logically then, I must regain my senses."

With all his strength, and mustering up a little trick he learned from a wandering monk during his sojourn in the east, Maximillian pushed the limits of his normal existence and managed to regain consciousness, even if it was a bit disorienting and a bit nauseas. After all, the High Lord was accustomed to far worst situations involving a small ship like his afternoon folly. Opening his eyes, like a slit through a sieve, he managed to gaze upon a nice view which was undoubtedly still moving like in his dreamlike trance. Maximillian then mustered up all his senses and beat his face up just to make sure he was awake. And indeed he was!

He then took a small flask from his vest and imbibed a healthy amount of the liquid inside, the fluid spattering a few blots on his now oily silk coat. The liquid made him cough a few moments before it passed away along with some of Maximillian's pain. Then as he was trying to make out what was happening, by some unfortunate incident unknown to him, hit him literally. His head hit a low lying branch knocking him out again and forcing him back into his dreamlike trance. Licking frogs was much less painful.

The track hadn’t seem so far from the ship while he was up there but he’d already been walking for a good twenty minutes now and he‘d yet to trample over anything resembling a road of any kind. His trailer; the hairy mutt was rather comfortable at this time. Walking in his shadow, having the way cleared by the monster of a man as his heavy steps crushed down the vegetation. While on the other hand his guest had regained some consciousness for a some mounts but before Giggles could get a word in his foolishness had gotten the fella knocked out cold again. He rose his meaty fist at dam over hanging trees and cursed his luck.

Some time later he broke from the crops edge, out into the dusty track. Clearly the falling vessel had either attracted everyone’s attention and they were checking it out or scarred most of them half to death seeing as the track was deserted.

With a gurgled grunt Giggles thought for a moment to stay put, set up camp perhaps and wait until a fellow traveller passed by and lend him a hand to his dilemma with the rather hairy human but being his luck the weather had turned to shit. Who would have thought it, bloody mages most likely!

At first it came down soft like but soon it was chucking it down. Bloody fine weather for travel this was! Weighing up his choice to returned to the city and further delaying his trip or going onwards and just testing the humans luck. He’d be fine, just a few knocked to the skull, nothing a little nap can’t heal, he thought to himself with a small smile as the dog moved tight to his side, hoping to hide partly out of the rain under the giant body but was soon kicked away with a light swing of his big grey foot. Got himself a bite on the ankle for that, fine company.

A few hours had passed and Giggles was huddled under a tree. His express was grim as he stared into the tiny spark of a camp fire before him. Slumped in the dirt to his right was hairy git, got himself a bit of a saw back carrying him so far. Brought a bit of a smile to his face seeing the lads mud covered face but only a little one. The mutt was off on the other side of the fire, curled in a ball kipping for a time.

“Fine time go something to eat”, Giggles muttered to himself then trusted his hands in his back pack and rummaged about for a time till he finally tour out a few strips of smoked bacon. The Dogs eyes flicked open, drawl started flowing which was quickly brought to a end with a yelp as Giggles threw a rock at it.

“Hey!”, Giggles roared at the knocked out bloke in frustration as he stared down at the hairy bloke with a irritated eye. “Wake up!”, Giggles shouted as he quickly swept across the ground from his seat and took a firm grip on the mans shoulder and gave him a heavy shave and almost a slap but recalled how brittle a humans neck was and didn’t want to kill the fella. “Blood useless”, he said finally as he let go and moved back to his position at the fire and turned his back to the man.

Inside the very dark chasms of the man the Apprahead now had as an unwitting companion, there revolved a fanciful idea. To other people thinking things as he was thinking and pondering in that dazed state was whimsy and blasphemous even but to an eccentric like Maximillian, it was a logical and workable idea. The idea that he had even when knocked out of his very senses was the concept of having people sit in front of machine boxes and in turn those machines and boxes that the people would be sitting upon would connect that individual gazing upon the machine to other people using wires, magics and a little innovation. Such concepts though, Maximillian thought at the very inner corner of his mind was not a very good idea and in that specific moment in time he felt it was wrong to think of such things seeing that he was still unconscious, one way or another. This point had been driven quite forcefully upon his limp body with the force rivaling that of an Equinoxian Land Turtle.

Gathering up his strength, he managed to see, his eyelids quite heavy from the evil tree branch of doom earlier, a very peculiar sight - a rare Filoqian Night Bug. Then his other senses noticed something very soothing present in the air. Bacon.

"Terribly sorry to bother you old chap," Maximillian standing up and sitting beside the Apprahead with nary a care in the cosmos. After all, in his whole existence, Maximillian never met himself an angry Apprahead. They were such good natured races that Maximillian as an itinerant traveler came to know personally although most of his summations about the race was largely contested by many scholars. "Thanks for managing to pick me out of the that blasted contraption. I owe you one old boy. By the stars above me and by Jove, are you by any chance a traveler yourself?"

Giggles hard round eyes stared hard at the hairy man as he woke from his heavy nap and rose to his feet. Seemed a little surreal, knocked out cold, not moved a muscle really and here he was up on his feet. He wondered for a moment what kind of character this man must be. Giggles hand slipped along the ground and settled on the hilt of his great sword which was still laying I the dirt, never could be to sure.

"Terribly sorry to bother you old chap,", "Thanks for managing to pick me out of the that blasted contraption. I owe you one old boy. By the stars above me and by Jove, are you by any chance a traveller yourself?"

“Go fuck yourself, your heavy you know that”, Giggles growled and he tightened his grip around his blade for a moment of annoyance brought on by the mans way with words and happy tone but with a heavy breath he settled himself into a calmer mood and loosened his grip just a bit. “but yeah I’m more of a mercenary than anything, travelling south, bacon?”, Giggles grunted as he turned a heavy fist over toward Max and offer a strip of smoked bacon. The Dog was quickly up on it’s feet and watching lustfully from across the fire.

“Anyhow what in hells name was that thing? Did catch much of a look at it, hit the dirt soon after I was engulfed by smoke from the thing”, he muttered in wonder as he thought over the pasted events of that day. He shook his head clear of the images and took a chunk out of his bit of bacon and grinded it between his teeth thoughtfully.

"Tell me about it," Maximillian primmed his moustache, stroking it carefully with the movements of an old nobleman, "We Nautillians are stockier and heavier than most men round these parts. Stocky and more hardy as my Papa always said. Must be from all the harsh environment up North if you know what I mean. They say my grandfather was almost a giant in our reckoning though I cannot hardly believe that tale I've heard from my relatives."

With a swish and a flick, the Duke sat down beside the Apprahead and partook the bacon he offered.

"Trav'lling sou' ?" Maximillian inquired his mouth chock full of bacon. Outside courtrooms and palaces, Maximillian was as lowly and jovial as a peasant. He swallowed the pieces and cleared his throat as he turned to his companion, "Tell me exactly why do wish to seek your fortunes south? Not exactly a place for a good nice adventure issit now? Now if yer plannin' to 'ave a gran' old adventure I'd say travel east. Now there's an adventure if yer asking me. Plenty of opportunities for a Apprahead like yourself, especially one skilled with a blade and a fire inside his heart. South! Ha! Nothing but sands and heat!"

Maximillian threw a few more faggots to the fire, munching on his bacon. Then as the Apprahead inquired about his little experiment, a glint appeared on the human's eyes.

"Oh that. Just testing a few designs on an airship. I test my theories every once and in a while a trying to use Petra Oleum or Rock Liquid is not only a bad idea its also a damned idea. It burns too much and it easily catches fire. Not only that dear friend but Petra Oleum is bloody smelly and I wager that a Muck Goose smells better in spring! I'm going to talk with that scholar from the sands about his Petra Oleum theory when I get the chance! I don't usually ride that thing mind you, I have me own ship, if you want I can give you a lift one of these days. I myself hate the city and all its pomposity and every chance I get I wear my boots and travel like yourself. Adventure always smells good. New lands, new customs, new things. Oh and by the way I'm Maximillian. Pleasure to meet your acquaintance good master."

Nautillians….some kind of human group maybe? Stocky and hardy but still small unlike we Appraheads, silly men, Giggles though to himself as the man went on with his endless speak. He often though of humans as lower than himself due to their small size compared to him yet he wasn’t rude enough to speak down to them.

“Battle lies south, Istria commands it. Myself I don’t care for the events but the money fines my love for ale and meat”, he said with a chuckle as he gazed hard into the flames and drew his big hand away from his sword and rested it on his lap.

“I understood little of what you just said but they call me Giggles”, he replied with a toothy grin and he turned his heavy head toward the hairy man and gazed down his nose at the fellow for a moment, looking him over once more, then turned his gaze away.

“So…you’re a event of some kind then? You speak of….technology like a man who understands it. Myself I find the sight in Istria are breath taking, machinery mixed with magic. It’s all over my head, I no nothing of either”, he explained with a smile as he turned his gaze off toward the far distances where the glow of Istria still ignited the night sky.

“So what are going to do with yourself when morning comes? It’s a bit of a trek back and your welcome to the fire till sun light when I make a move again”.

It had been raining for a while but it stopped suddenly to the joy of those who preferred the sun. Slowly the wind blew the clouds away from the way of the sun. The remaining raindrops sparkled on the plants like the best royal diamonds.

A horse snorted anxiously under a woman as she ordered it to continue forward. It was a young stallion, large but graceful. There was no saddle on his back and he carried only gentle and light bridles. His fur was the shade of gold and the sun made it glisten under its light. His slightly lighter tone mane was long and smooth. He was one of the well bred horses of Ethreas. A powerful animal with no flaws on him. Just like there were no flaws on the woman sitting on his back.

"Hold on, my love." The woman said to the horse with her soft and smooth voice and he stopped in the middle of the golden field. The woman's light green eyes scanned the landscape. Her blond hair blew in the gentle wind. "Radeahhhhh...." a whisper echoed in the back of her mind. It was the spirit trying to get her attention. She knew it wanted to make her pay attention to what lied ahead. The horse under her took a few side steps, feeling anxious. Radeah gently pressed her bare feet against the sides of the animal and it quickly jumped into a gliding gallop.

Radeah focused on the movement of the animal. Her white cotton dress pressed against her skin as they moved fast across the field. Suddenly they faced two men in front of them. She leaned back and the horse dug his hooves to the ground. The horse let out a loud neigh and whisked his front legs into the air before it calmed down and stood still. The high priestess gently pet his neck and allowed it to walk peacefully forward a few steps towards the strangers before she made him stop again. Radeah stared down at the men with her green eyes. "They are from Issssstria..." The voice in her head hissed. A gentle smile decorated her lips and she nodded slowly at the men. "Good day, men of Istria." Her smooth voice greeted. "I presume I am heading to the right direction, since I face you here." She knew she was heading the right way, the spirit guided her, but still she said these words like someone about to lose their way.

"To meat and ale then." smiled the Nautillian. He took off a flask from his coat poured a decent amount into a small cup which by some unnatural accident was also in his pocket and took a mug from the Apprahead's backpack and poured all the contents inside and gave it to his companion. "Nothing beats being under the stars again you know. One of my grandfathers loved to gaze upon them. His dream was to reach them and explore what lay beyond them. He used to tell me, that the stars - innumerable and bright, are living worlds like ours, full of people and places and cultures unknown all waiting to be touched, explored and understood. But right now, a cheers to meat and ale eh young Master Giggles?"

The name Giggles did not bother Maximillian one bit. He had heard enough strange names in all his travails, stranger and more odd than the one carried by the Apprahead he now was seating beside with. He sniffed the air and inhaled deeply as to savour the freshness the air possessed this very night.

"Technology, schechmology... its all the same to us Nautillians one way or another. Far North our place is much more riddled with machines and steam and a dastardly everyday snow. In fact we only have one season, winter. Jagged mountains and harsh terrains that freezes a man's heart and soul if not for his will to create and survive. All in all I just try to amuse myself with technology, as my other grandfather always said, man was never meant to stay put in one place and gather Fanglemoss ferns." Maximillian continued, motivated by the strong concoction he now imbibed. It was a mixture of Poppleweed berries and a rare eastern Monkhag fruit which by Maximillian's own brew contained at least a 150% pure alcohol. "But sometimes, I wonder whether tis nice to not know most things than be all knowing. Life is much simpler for someone who knows little rather than too many."

"Don't worry about transportation Master Giggles," the Duke's cheeks turning redder and redder, illuminated by the sharp hues of the small fire. He took out a small time piece from his vest, which was full of odd symbols and intricate hands and wheels and started tweaking a few knobs here and there. Then out of his oily coat he managed to produce a small metallic tube with a wooden handle with what resembled to be a trigger. He aimed it at the sky and fired and out a bright red will 'o wisp went hurtling to the night sky. Higher and higher it went till finally it exploded like a blue firecracker. "I don't know magic, but sometimes a little innovation compensates once in a while. My ship will be here soon and not just any ship mind you Master Giggles. The best ship the world's greatest minds can think and built. If you like I can drop you off anywhere you like if I will happen to pass near your point of destination. I myself am going on a journey to Ethreas, to oversee a little business."

Then a most unexpected happened as Maximillian was talking to the Apprahead. A number of gadgets inside his pocket whirled and whizzed and turned their gears and cogs in frenzy. Maximillian took out one such gadget which resembled a timepiece as he had previously taken out. "Odd." said Maximillian in a hushed tone as he sat down and sipped from his cup. "Bewitched, bothered and bewildered..."

"A WOMAN!!!" cried old Maximillian as he stood up and in his haste lost his balance and hit his head upon a small terrapin rockturtle who was walking behind him. Then he lost his consciousness again.

"A WOMAN!!!"

Radeah startled as the man yelled, hitting his head. Her horse stepped back whisking his head, angered by the rudeness of the two legged creature. She stared down at him confused and threw a glance at the apperhead. "Is he alright?" Radeah asked with a hesitant voice, for once behaving like a normal woman. "I do have something I could use to wake him up." she pointed at the bag of herbs and healing supplies hanging behind her on the horse's back.

“To meat and ale then”, Giggles nodded with a broad grin as he grasped the metal cup between his thumb and index finger and took a hearty snort of the smell up his nose and took a small swig from the cup, making sure not to drink back the whole lot in one go seeing a she didn’t quite know how his human would feel about that.

He sat in silences while the human spoke thoughts aloud and they made some scence, well scenes enough that Giggles could understand him. His mind was simple and complex dialog often went over his head.

“Us Appraheads have short lives. We have become a custom to learning simple skills and living simple lives. Life is far more enjoyable when it is not overly complicated.”, Giggles contemplated for a moment as he stared off into the far distances, twisting his cup lightly between his figure and thumb thoughtfully.

Giggles watched thoughtfully as the hairy human fussed over a number of parts and constructed some kind of tool. The object didn’t places much ease in Giggles heart and his hand was quick to touch the hilt of one of his daggers. The chill of the hilt was reassuring, blades he understood, machinery he did not.

As the moment the spell burst from firearm of sorts, Giggles was already on his feet, his dagger drawn and a bit of distances between himself as the hairy human, yet his cup was still firmly in his grips, no point wasting good drink. He watched for a moment as the spell burst in the far distances and he let out a shuddering breath as he relaxed and the Duke explained everything.

“Magic and machinery, God’s above they make me uneasy and….and yes I’ll take you up on your offer, yet I must warn you us Appraheads don’t travel well but I will do my best to not be a burden”, he uttered the last part with some shame. He didn’t like his weakness, a flaw of his race.

Giggles watched as the duke hit the dirt once more from knocking himself out cold then his gaze turned to the new coming, a woman of sorts, after a few moment of looking her over he found her to be a human. Giggles eyed the horse for a time, his stare locked with the beasts, a challenge of sorts, he didn’t like beasts that were similar to his own strength, he found them threatening in a way.

“He’ll be fine, nothing to worry about”, Giggles finally broke his stare and moved swiftly to the Duke and pulled him up with easy into a sitting position and drew his cup up under the mans nose and wafted the strong scent under the mans nose, hopefully getting some sense out of the man.

“This isn’t the first time this has happened today”, Giggles muttered aloud to the woman as he took some care of the fellow. “Might I ask what your doing out here? Care to share our fire for a time?”, Giggles asked with out turning as he drew the cup away from the mans nose and took a swig of the juice and swigged it around his mouth.

"I see." Radeah feels her horse tense underneath her. He's throwing glances at the apperhead. She calms his nerves by whispering a few words to him. The last thing she needed was her horse to decide he wouldn't put up with that particular stranger. It could get ugly.

“Might I ask what your doing out here? Care to share our fire for a time?”
Radeah considered the offer. Her dress was still moist from the rain so the fire sounded good. She slid down from her horse. She didn't bind it to anything for she knew he wouldn't leave her. She had been with that horse since it had been only few weeks old. "I am here merely to go to Istria, nothing more. I have things to do and people to meet there." She replies with a gently smile as she sits down near the fire. Little does the apperhead know that when she says meet she means kill. "How about you? Going to travel?"

"Did somebody say travel?" Maximillian suddenly springing to life with nary a care what happened to him just a few moments ago. The word travel seemed to have that particular effect on the man. It was still evident though that the Nautillian was still perturbed and uneasy in the company of a woman. It was then that Maximillian once again employed his skill in deducting before letting a single word escape his lips.

Now it isn't normal for a lady to travel alone which means this woman is not any ordinary lass. Furthermore, during that brief time in which I was in the throes of losing my consciousness her steed had some sort of communication with her, which would imply that she has some sort of powers or anything she keeps under her sleeves which by any means allows her and the beast to keep in one mind so to speak. Adding to that her garments would reveal that she has recently traveled long and distant and probably even from Ethreas. Last of all her bags which she carries and her horse smelled like herbs and spices of which in my memory smelled familiar. Smelled like... my grandam. Now, a woman traveling alone, with only her steed and wits: best keep an eye on the situation.

"Pray do tell me milady and forgive my inquisitiveness, Istria you say your journey ends, a pressing matter it is to travel to a place so construed by misery and anguish yet." Maximillian taking a seat opposite the fire, draining his mug. "T'would not be best to travel right now to the city. Flames and woes oft not make best of elements."

Taking his weird timepiece out of his coat, Maximillian noted a few things. Though the Nautillian looked drunk and unguarded, he already had a few plans in case anything got awry. He always was this: in the company of women. The timepiece whirred and moved, till finally it stopped unto a small symbol engraved upon face of the watch. Twas the symbol of a violet fog, and Maximillian's eyes narrowed as he pocketed it.

"Here take this, it looks like you need it." Pouring a cup of his own brew unto another mug and passing it to their new companion. "Forgive me for being so, but you looked like been through rough travel. T'would be best if you unsaddle your friend over there and let him graze a bit. He looks tired. And a bit young to traveling such long distances."

"Incidentally," Maximillian through his waxed mustached turning to the woman, "How goes my old friend, the Archmagi of Ethreas? I trust he is in good spirits?"
