- The year is 2008 and we are settled in the world's electronic mecca. Tokyo, Japan is beautiful, inspiring. Lethal. These streets are not what they appear from an outside perspective and it is wise to know that the pretty Japanese woman kissing the junction of your shoulder and neck is not yours at all. She is not her own property as well, rather belongs to the underground world. Your money does not touch government desks -- it falls on the table of Yakuza leaders.
This world is not new and has thrived alongside Japan, blending and blurring the lines between violence and justice, continuing to do so as we speed to the new millennium. Here, districts are territories, families are syndicates, and tattoos are warnings of who to respect and who to fear. Three syndicates rule Tokyo, three majestic yakuza organizations that can swallow whole Japan's underground in their reign if they wished to combine their powers. But peace between this darkened trinity has never been steady and now...it has been broken.
The Akai Karasu make their name in the dark side of the government. They control certain politicians, are politicians themselves, and whenever blackmail is demanded, these men are not afraid to pull out the dirtiest secrets of their targets. Much less afraid to kill them, dressed in fashion of Armani and AK-47s. They are the loan sharks, the deciding hand in politics, and word around bloodied streets is these men are negotiating with the department of national defense to rat out people for protection when war breaks out....
The Isshi Ookami are notorious for ruling the black market of weaponry in Japan with an iron fist. Regarded as the merciless killers of Tokyo, their name rams fear into the hearts of everyone and anyone. Bounties on the heads of Isshi Ookami members are high as both police and mercenaries hunt these hit men and dealers of war. This powerful syndicate is ready to bear arms with any of the other two organizations should one of them become an official enemy.
The Kunin Chayu Ssauda. The Korean mafia with a reputation so well known, their moniker spreads to the west side of North America. Human trafficking galore and drug smugglers, the Kunin control a significant amount of the economy despite the obvious reluctance in Japan to accept Koreans as citizens. They are fierce, courageous, and mad, finding dignity in their business and they do it very well....As of late, their reputation is being mocked -- and they will not stand for that.
Our story takes place in the time where the Kunin Chayu Ssauda no longer feels welcomed, after two attacks from its supposed Japanese allies, and now they will strike back in the worst ways imaginable. No one here is considered a friend as each syndicate does not know who to trust but themselves -- and even that is not wise to do as behind shadows lurk traitors....
There is a force, a Special Ops force, that is the left hand of the government, created to fight back and protect what should not be in the hands of the yakuza and after years of meek intervention, they will have to use all power to make sure that this war does not surge onto the surface.
Who will you side with as this rises from underneath and claims hell on the other side?
