this is who we are.

Between the future and the past tense
Lies the present and the distance
So you think we're never coming back
Scoring points for passion and persistence

Raven Smith was a normal girl, living life in San Francisco , California.
She became a rebel, never listened to what anyone told her.
At only 14, no one wanted to know what would happen later.

Between the lines and the highway
Lies the danger and the safety
You never thought this was gonna last
I always knew you'd never take it back

A year later, she ran off with her boyfriend to Bayside, Cali.
No one really cared she was gone. Living on her own, she went to school, and lived life normally.
Until she made a team; The Rebels. Why’d she make it? To go against Lost Causes.
The Lost causes killed her boyfriend, for what reason?
No reason. Just for the hell of it. Or.. thats what Raven thought.

I always knew (I always knew)

I know it seems like we're never coming back
I know it feels like we're never coming back
You tried your best and you knew it wouldn't last
They were the words that she placed on her casket

School was no different.
Rumors going around about her, people from the Lost Causes talking shit.
The seniors found anyways to make teachers hate her,
and she couldn't go through one class with out getting in trouble.
Did they want her to get kicked out? Probably.

Between the sadness and the smile
Lies the flicker of the fire
You always said this never hurt you
I always said you were a liar

She faked being okay, nothing could help her. No one could comfort her.
Never did she think losing him could hurt her like this.
No one believed her when she said she was okay.

With all the towers and the wires
There still lies a little silence
Two hearts and one connection
One voice lacks emotion now

And then; the battle started.
Leo and Raven decided, that there was one way to settle this once and for all.
Fighting for territory was the game. The price? If Raven's team got all territory of Bayside
by the time she was a senior, The Lost causes had to leave for good.
And Leo's price? Well..he hadn't decided just yet..

Instead of flowers like words that never mattered
Close it off forget about the sadness
He always said she should have tried crying
Blaming him, as she was lying down

Raven blamed him for being so stupid, blamed herself for letting it happen.
But most of all, blaming Leo Kirston, the leader of lost cause.
She swore she would get her revenge if it was the one thing she died for.

Not coming back (Not coming back)
Not coming back (Not coming back)
