Gordan had been traveling for only so long. He was used to the dirt under his feet and he wouldn't want it any other way. The long walk had been very uneventful. During a stop at a tavern he got into a fist fight and smashed someones face in, but that was all the excitement he had gotten so far. He found himself bored with it all. But promise was on the horizon. A cities battlements could be seen from where he was. He took a swig from a silver flask filled with water. He wasn't risking getting trashed out on the roads. Not until he had somewhere to sleep that was moderately safe. A few men were riding out to him, only about three. They were geared for hunting or camping. He couldn't tell. He only saw a bunch of bundled bags and the such. "Ho, stranger." On called, waving his hand. Gordan raised an eyebrow. He hated people that just had to say hello. They just couldn't keep on freakin riding could they? "What do you want?" He called, readying up. He didn't know if they were hostile or not. "Nothing. Just saying hello." The man called back. He looked kind of at nerves end. He started shifting around in his seat. The dark skinned elf wasn't a very welcome sight. Gordan just increased his pace and walked past, annoyed with the pettiness of it. 'Just saying hello, eh? I'll show you hello.' He thought. He turned with a sudden speed and dug his heel into the rider's horse, making it rear and charge off. Gordan, intent on getting away from the men before they righted themselves, set off at a sprint for the city, kicking up dirt as he ran. He finally stopped, near the entrance, drinking in air to satisfy his lungs. He wasn't as fit as he used to be. He would be fixing that problem soon enough though. |

The hooves of Lilly’s mare clapped softly on the cobbled streets as she moved graceful toward her home. She sat with some grace in her; saddle, her back straight, hands at her lap lightly grasping the reigns, a soft smile licking her full lips. She was dressed to ride in a soft blue ridding dress which bare one slip in each side, exposing her chocolate smooth legs. Her dress was made by her own hand and bared some silver vine embroidery around the cuffs and hem. At her heel and head, four footmen guarded her. Their expressions firm and their eyes watchful. The footmen were aged men, most wore their hair in silver warriors tails, there body’s rapped in soft leather and their arms on show, exposing the well cleaned blades of their trades. It was common to see such sites, the wealthy always travelled with personal guards yet this was a rare occasion for Lilly. She rarely gained any trouble from any one due to her kind reputation and lush looks but today she hides some hands due to her last transition of goods was with a fellow who had precisely been reluctant to pay for his wares. While on her travels her eyes settled upon a un-kept dark skinned elf. A rare sight in her opinion, seeing as most elves held some wealthy behind themselves and rarely travelled alone. A curious smile licked her lisp as she turned her horse lightly and moved toward the stranger, her guardsmen quickly changing their course and following. She moved her horse to the side of the heavy breathing elf, unaware of his previous actions to a pass by. She glanced down on him with a soft welcoming glance and nodded in his direction yet didn’t break into conversion while her guardsmen moved back into their positions around her but places some distances between themselves and her to give her room to breath. |

He was very aware of the horsemen all around. Five of them, from counting the twenty hooves. But make that four. One was royalty or something of the sort. The dress gave that away. The other four were most likely men. Human, armored and armed. With what, he had no idea. He thought about the odds. His magic and speed versus their arms and armor. And possibly magic. To him, the odds looked very good. "If you are here to contain me for what I did to the idiot being dragged down the road, I'm telling you right now. I'm not going quietly." He did not bother to look up. So he could witness the men drawing their weapons, or looking at him with their stone solid gazes. Instead he readied himself. The horses would be easy enough. Magic would help him with that. The guards and the royalty were another problem. He felt a prickly sensation in his spine. He had now tapped his magic, he was ready to cast a spell. Aftershock would cause little to no injury. Enough for him to sprint into the gates. But what if these people weren't here to get him. 'Then I suppose I owe them a drink after this...'. He braced himself and waited for a response, whether it was movement or words. |

"If you are here to contain me for what I did to the idiot being dragged down the road, I'm telling you right now. I'm not going quietly." “Oh”, Lilly replied with a moment of speechlessness. Not to appear rude she pressed onwards and took a gulp of city air to rise her confidence. “I’m terribly sorry for any wrong that might have been done to you on your journey here, I expect you had good reason for any act you might have taken”, she spoke in a soft, friendly tone on order to soften any walls between the pair of them and did her best to keep her breathing under control. Something about this figure was causing her heart to race and making her horse jitter lightly. “Please excuse me for my rudeness”, she said with a smile as a low bow from her horse back while taking little notice to see if the dark skin elf had yet to pay her any heed, she felt manners were in need here, though this elf seemed to not be tired down so much by Elvin social standards. “My name is Lilly Remington”, she introduced herself once she was straight in the saddle once again and had full hold of the reins. In a relaxed movement she let her shoulders slump slightly as she tried to flex the kinks out of her back. “I was curious what your business in Istria might be. It is very rare to see folk like ourselves”, she said with a smile. She was speaking of the fact it was rare to see Elves in general in this area who weren’t under heavy guard as they travelled to the upper levels and it was also rare to see darker skinned Elves I these parts. |

He lightened up. So they weren't here to drag him off. "Naaa, there was no really good reason for what I did. Just got a little aggravated with a git and sent him packing." Now that he was out in the clear, he reached for his second flask, the one full of whiskey. He unscrewed the cap as the woman spoke. She introduced herself and he waited patiently for her to finish her sentence. He had taken about three more swigs, half way into the third as soon as her voice cut out. "Well, Lady Remington, my name is Gordan. And I came here on charge of being bored to my wits end and almost out of whiskey. And in serious need of a job." He looked her over. She was very pretty. A small body frame, yet standing next to her, she seemed to be massive. Like those guards. Or it was just that he was short. Her skin was darkened, a chocolaty color. Very pretty indeed. He had noticed her ears almost immediately. So he wasn't the only one who didn't stick with the old ways. Or maybe she did. Who knew? Obviously not him. |

"Naaa, there was no really good reason for what I did. Just got a little aggravated with a git and sent him packing." “Oh I see, well bet he simply push your to your limits, how sad you had to meet such unpleasant company on the road”, she said with a smile as he kept to his pace and trotted along slowly while glancing about in a relaxed manner so not to appear like she was staring down upon the fellow. "Well, Lady Remington, my name is Gordan. And I came here on charge of being bored to my wits end and almost out of whiskey. And in serious need of a job." “Well we do have some fine spirits in our city and work is always available. What might you be looking for might I ask?”, he voice was soft but interested, when she spoke she often met his eyes but didn’t stair for long. |

"Well... If I had to get a job, it has to be combat related. And smithing ain't my thing, and neither is any sort of weapon making, like fletching and the like. I used to serve as a mercenary with a group of humans. I could do body guard work, military. Anything. Just need a weapon and a position." He looked up at the woman. He had gained a lot of human customs. Like the males natural reaction to stumbling, cursing. During the walk, he tripped on his own foot, distracted with looking up and her, rather than at the ground he was walking across. He only fell to his knee, causing a slight pang of pain that quickly faded. He stood up quicker than he fell, trying to hide his embarrassment. Wasn't that lovely? He was trying to get a job and couldn't even walk. He took a swig of his whiskey, trying to maintain his cool. He was almost laughing at himself. Stupid, Stupid, STUPID! He thought. He was like any other male human. Had to impress the ladies. But not push himself upon anyone. He wouldn't want anyone like that now anyways. |

“Hmm a mercenary…”, she pondered for a moment, making sure to look away at the mans miss step to avoid further embarrassment for the man. Her caring natural made her want to ask if he was well, but it would simply add to the embarrassment and she didn’t want such a think, they seemed to be getting off on a good foot so far, even if he was rather ruff around the edges and a bit of a drunk from the amount he had already drunk in their small time together. “Well the master forge on the middle level of the city is where most of our weapon craft is done, but if your not interested in such a field I would advise talking to some of the local guard for work, or perhaps speak to some of the soldiers, they might no of some opening. I wouldn’t advice is but if your looking for a good money for horrid acts, possibly visit the House of Justice and ask for employment in The Royal Inquisitors”, a shiver ran down her shine at the thought of the men at their black masks. The stories she had heard about those peoples. “So you know any spells sir? Spell caster often gain easy work in the temples as messengers and such, I myself did some time there…but I’ve done my time….and I wish not to return there”, she became almost distant for a moment at the thought of the place. After her late husbands passing she was advised to visit the temple and gain forgiveness, a trick in truth due to her weakness of heart at the time. |

The royal inquisitors... the way she said it gave him the creeps. He had no idea who they were, but he could guess that if she didn't like them, he wouldn't end up pals with them either. He couldn't help but ask who they were. "The royal inquisitors? A police force or something?" He looked ahead of him. The royal inquisitors... he obviously didn't want to be one of them, most likely all of them being a bunch of royal pains in the ass. From what he could guess from the name, a group of people who go around, acting as a secret guard, torturing the general populace and abusing the powers that were given to them. They would most likely all be snobby, stuck up individuals who couldn't win a fight on their own, so instead traveled in packs, with lots of weapons and armors. She then averted to magic. He knew some yes, but he wasn't in the mood to let her know that he what he was practicing was illegal in the sense of the word. He would do what he liked and damned be the person who tried to stop him from doing so. But he was lacking a weapon, and even with magic, those guards were looking mighty strong and if he was unlucky, itching for a fight. |

"The royal inquisitors? A police force or something?" A frown ran over Lilly’s features as he asked for further details on the group. To let out a light sign and smoothened her features one more, recomposing herself and appearing the lovely soul she was again. “Royal Inquisitors are what their names stats. A group employed in order to bring criminals to justice though a series of questions and other such actions. I guess their actions are noble and needed but there’s something about those people, all decked out in black, most wearing mask’s something just seems odd about the lot of them”. She bit her bottom lip for a moment and gaze about worryingly for a moment in fear of being torn from her horse back and dragged off to the house of questions for investigation, but that was pure fantasy, she bet they weren’t as bad as people made them out to be. “Part from them, most of the law enforcement in the city are very friendly from what I’ve seen during my time in their presents but I guess they may use a firm tone with law breakers and such”, she pondered on the matter for a moment, that was something that was most likely true and she would put money on it as a matter of fact. “So a part from drinking and playing adventurer”, she said the latter part with a smile and a quick wink, “ what else do you do with your time Mr. Gordon?”, she asked with a smile as they passed a number of children in rags who she kept a keen eye on. One of her guards had already moved between her and the child in order to block any attempts of thief from the child as everyone knew orphans often started lives as pick pockets and soft touches. |
