When the Prince's mother passed, the king had a magnificent playground of sorts built to entertain his son. Here there was green grass and trees of all kinds, most of which were growing into good climbing trees. Something similar to playground sets were also made, designed by some of the best architects. It was wooden with a club house spot which had a ladder and a metal simple slide. There was also and attached swing set. It had two wooden seated swings with chains to tie them to the above bar. It was a place the Prince and Ciri loved to come.

Today, there was a meeting so the Jester was instructed to watch the prince. He took Ciri and the Prince out to the grounds. There, they were very good at not bothering the Jester. They would climb and run, play tag and hide and seek, and they would swing and slide. Their laughter and not always coherent chatter filled the air. The sun was out and bright as well, it was a beautiful day.

Logan sat patiently at his home. His body mostly bared and he was caked in cold sweet. His wife tended to him boil covered body, setting a sweet cloth to it was he grasped his pray book with all his might and prayed for forgiveness as he conjured up a shadow elemental in the halls the palace far off in the upper levels.

The shadowy form lingered in the shadow of tree’s based in the princes play area. A ragged form swayed for a moment, slowly become harder and firmer. The creature took the form of a goblin like beast. It’s flesh black as night, it’s nose like a nook, a pair of large round eyes stared out of it’s skull like head and it’s slim bony body clung close to the ground as he lightly bobbed up and down impatiently.

With a sign of relief Logan dropped back heavily in his pair and rubbed his blood covered arms lightly, nursing his wounds from his spell casting. This was the only way he could gain access to the palace with out rising to much suspicion around himself. His wife held him softly for a moment then retreated to the kitchen to gather him food and water to help him regain his strength. Holding the form of the beast was easy, creating it was the hard part.

“Ciri…..Ciri…”, the goblin began to whisper in a soft tone as it slowly moved though the shadow and glanced around warily for guards of sorts and his pray. Logan held complete control of the beast, each word his own, each action by his will.

The two giggled at a joke and the Prince ran to get a drink. She looked around curiously and saw the thing in the shadows. She slowly walked over, standing beside the tree, on the other side of the goblin. She had never seen such a thing before and it indeed scared her. "Who..who are you?" She asked nervously, gripping the tree that stood between them. Something about it seemed, strange, like it was not truly there, but her eyes and ears told her otherwise.

"Who..who are you?"

“Ah, but a servant my dear. How might I describe myself? Ah, helper of the law perhaps. A friend of the Inquisitors. Would you, ah, be interested in a game perhaps?”, The Goblin spoke in whispers, his voice some what eerie as it softly echoed after each word.

He kept his distance and was forever watchful yet one of his eyes always seemed to be watcher the child and a sly grin was carved into his lips. With a shuddering breath it spoke onwards.

“A game of words perhaps?”

"Umm, okay," she said looking at the creature more curious now. "So what is it we are going to play?" She then asked him as they talked silently. Ciri kneeled on the ground and she glance back at the playground. The jester seemed lost in though and the Prince was nowhere to be seen. She put her hands in her lap and looked at the goblin which was no bigger than her. She couldn't promise she'd be any good at words, since her teachings were limited, but she would do her best.

“Hmmm, let us see”, the goblin thoughtful for a moment, letting his eyes wonder up toward the tree tops for a moment. A smirk much like Logan’s lips on it’s lips for a moment and a healthy little giggle rigged out of it’s throat.

“How about a game of, ah truths? I ask a question you answer, then you ask a question, can be anything and I’ll answer. Does that sound, ah interesting? “, the Goblin pondered for a moment, nibbling on it’s lips in wonder if it had explained itself well enough.

Logan on the other hand sat in his blood stained chair at home, nursing a glass of red wine and chewing on a chunk of cheesy bread made by his darling wife. She stood at his wide, whispering softly advice on how to deal with the child with out taking on Logan’s brutish style. Doing things this way worked very so well, by this point if Logan was doing it in person a blade would be at the child’s neck and she would be carried off to the house of justice for questioning, not the quietest action.

"Umm, okay," she agreed and then looked to him. "So who's first? Me or you?" She then asked the things. Something about this thing frightened her and she wished the Jester, or Logan, or Giggles would come. However, in a way, it enticed her as well. Ciri had a curiosity about her, so that she loved to learn new things. This was just one of them and she learned that thought it was somewhat frightful, she needn't be scared, just wary.

“Ah, I’ll go first dear”, the Goblin said with a now and a grin as he rose back up. His eyes shifted from her for a moment and glanced off around the play area once more, keeping look out for guards and threats of any kind.

“How did you come to be friends with our, ah little prince?”, the Goblin asked with wide black eyes and he leaned forward gentle to hear better. His hook like nose stood a good few inches forward from his face and seemed to almost wage in the breeze.

“Come on child tell me what I need to know”, Logan muttered to himself at home, his glass already being to filled and he had started on his mushroom soup while his wise continues to advice his next action and repeatedly advised to keep his cool and play things out.

"Jester got me. I lived in the poor regions and Jester heard of my situation and took me in. He said the Prince needed a friend and that I was the same age," she told the goblin.

Now it was her turn to ask. "Mr..whatever you are, what's your name?" She asked him curiously. She didn't need information so she didn't need to ask hard questions. Just the normal questions coming from a curious child.

“Same story as she told me”, Logan muttered to himself as he bit into another lump of bread and wetted his lips with a gulp of red wine. He sat in silence for moment, thinking of a name, flaw in his plan he thought. He hadn’t created a identity for this “Goblin” character before hands.

“Vincent Lacey, ah after me father”, the Goblin replied to the child’s question, his body slumped partly in a bow for a moment but he straighten up quickly and continued with his questions, his nose wagged lightly with his quick change in position, his black eyes rolled in his sockets, glancing over the scene with some interest.

“How is the Jester’s, ah relationship…with the kindly Prince might I ask? “, the Goblin asked with a slight sneer as he stared off toward the flamboyantly dressed figure who stood idle some distances away, possibly planning on how to kill of the Prince next, no evidence but a feel perhaps, something was off with the little creature of a man.

"What do you mean Mr. Vincent? You mean like are they friends? No, not really, he was loyal to the king he said, and he takes care of me and teaches me things and in turn, I help him with the prince. Adults just aren't as much as us kids. Though the Jester is really nice," she said innocently and sweetly. Then she topped for a moment to think of a question. Then she asked, "Why are you asking me these questions?" She asked the small creature curiously.

“Oh simple curiosity really, lovely to know things about people you know, ah I collect information for fun some might say”, it said with a grin in reply to her question. For a moment his eyes stopped scanning the area and looked down his nose as he lightly probed it with one of his long bony figured and flicked some of the content out onto the floor with a slight looking of disgust.

“Hmm next question….ah does the Jester talk at all about the late kings passing? I wouldn’t like to see him upset at all you see, he must have been rather close to his highness before his passing”, the goblin asked with a smile as he whipped his figured against his black hairy legs for a moment then returned to staying on the look out for danger.

She shrugged, "Well, I think he does well. He treats Alex good. I like being with the Prince." She smiled. "By the way, wanna go meet Mr. Jester?" She asked the goblin. "Then you could ask him himself how he feels,' she pointed out to the goblin, not understanding its true intentions.

"My turn also! Have you seen Mr. Logan lately? I miss him. He was nice and gave me tea. I liked it," she said happily.

"Ciri, Ciri." The prince came in stumbling in his clothes. Someone had found him on the way to get some water and added another layer to his clothing. "You're gonna be cold wearing only than, wouldn't want the prince getting sick now would we" The pair of feet he's been staring at had explained, after supplying him with a cloak. At this rate he though I'm going to fall down an' die of too much clothes.

He tugged the cloak of of him and proceeded to try and fold it like he'd been taught by one of the maids that had become fed up with him. Instead he managed to wrap it around his arm in a sort of bundle. He carelessly plucked it off and placed it on the ground.

A little bit of water was left on his cheek from the large mug he'd drank from. He turned to Ciri, finally noticing the companion she'd managed to pick up. "What's that Ciri, it's funny looking. You found a pet?"

“Oh ah no, that’s not needed, no need at all. Wouldn’t want to, ah take up the dear Jester’s time up”, it rambled for a moment trying to keep things simple and not gathering to much attention from the others, seeing as Logan didn’t know enough about this Jester fellow to pick out if he would recognise Void magic at work. Better to make a black figure than use his fire magic and creatures created completely out of flames, that’s a sure way to attracted attention.

“A Mr Logan? Ah not to sure who your talking about sorry dearest”, the Goblin pondered for a moment before it spoke but was quick to give a answer to bring a end to the topic but before it was unable to persist with it question, the Prince himself arrived and run off some questions of his own which left Logan at home in a loss of words for a moment. This most certainly hadn’t gone to plain.

“Vincent Lacey, ah after me father your highness”, it quickly spat out the words and dropped down onto it’s knobbly knees and bowed down ever so low in respect. The Prince presents had turned this up side down. Logan couldn’t bring himself to lie to the Prince, it went against everything he stood for, but bending the truth, well that might just be bearable.

“A pet…no, more of a servant, Master Alexander”, one of the goblins eyes turned in it’s socket and stared up toward the Prince for a moment looking for any reaction of sorts or a offer perhaps to raise but if not, he could kneel her all day if needed, or until Logan ran out of energy.

“You won’t believe it dear, but our highness has interrupted my interrogation!”, Logan said at his home to his wife to a small sputter of laugher and he let some of his wine run down his chin onto his belly. “Oh my, do say hello to his highness for me won’t you”, his wife said with a lick of sarcasm to her tone but was quickly silences by a dark glare from Logan. She might have been far more powerful than him, but a dark glance from him, often brought her to a halt in a argument.
