Lilly sat in the shade of her shop, taking shelter from the heat of the burning sun which now stood far above, marking midday for the cities people. Her features were soft and pleasant, a tender smile griped her lips, while her round eyes watched over the passer bys with a slight look of curiosity. Her chocolate colour skin today was rapped in a lush leaf green strapped dress which was cut short, just below her knee’s, exposing a the lower half of her smooth legs. The hem of her dress was decorated with black vine stick work, while the rest of her dress was plain and undecorated. The material of her dress so something like silk, yet it shifted in colour, moving form lighter to darker with he slightest movement of her body. Today had been a quite day. Her lovely ladies sat quietly in the back room, chatting among one another, sharing tea and biscuits and laughing over matters of love and fun. The group of plump ladies who had grown fat while in Lilly’s employment due to their high wages, often offered her refreshments or polite means due to her background but she often shared her thanks but stated she was fine for the moment, she’d wait until a customer might arrive. |

Everything was going to plan and frankly she wasn't going to stop to tug on the strings of the plan again. It hadn't unraveled yet, it wasn't gonna unravel soon, she wasn't planning on it. So instead of dwelling on it, she'd decided she would go about what she usually did. And so Varetine found herself again in the market district looking for some wares. The heat itself was unbearable, and while Varetine dabbled herself with a handkerchief like a porky businessman, for she was darker than most people here, she wished to be able to pant like a dog and see if that would help, but she'd long forgotten how to breathe. She wasn't wearing her coat today, or carrying her books, and her blouse was rolled up to her elbows. She wished she could do the same with her pants, but it wasn't city like. She wore slip-ons on her feet, the only pair of shoes least likely to attract heat in her closet. Even back home, when the marsh got hot it wasn't like this. The city seemed to attract heat. She found herself a little out of the crowd. Most people around her seemed to withstand the heat better. There was a fabrics shop to her right, and as much as she admired fabrics, her real purpose to go in there was to get out of the sun. She opened the door slowly and made her way in, it did seem a little cooler in there. There was an elf supervising, probably the clerk or some such, judging by the little old ladies she could see through the crack of the door that showed the backroom. But she couldn't help noticing the fine cloth that the elf's dress was made of. "Is that taffeta, I think it is, close to silk and all that. Looks to be of very good make." |

"Is that taffeta, I think it is, close to silk and all that. Looks to be of very good make." A warm smile rolled over Lilly’s lips as a slightly over heated, but lovely in appearance still, Terebori retreated from the heat of the out side world and paid her a kind complement and showed some knowledge of fabrics. “Ah a woman with a eye for fine wares, you are correct, and it’s my own work”, she replied with a low curtsy and a soft nod in the direct of a pair of chair set to one side of the shop. “Might I off you some refreshment? Tea, coffee, or something cooler so fend of these temperatures we’re having?”, he tone was level like most Elves but she wore a hint of playfulness to her which wasn’t often seen in Elves. “Are you looking for any wares, or in pursuit of shelter and some kind company? Either can be offered, the later free of charge”, she dress turned and shifted with the movement of her body, giving a air of relaxedness to Lilly. One of her works had already caught Lilly’s eye and had rose from her seat in the back room, ready to fetch anything if need be. Her works were a custom by now to her need to be a welcoming host. |

"Some tea would be fine, with ice even better, but I'm not picky." She said, again looking over the fabrics in the store. "You're a very talented woman." She said, returning the smile and seating herself cautiously in the chair. "To tell the truth I was indeed trying to find a place out of the blazing sun. It really is hot outside. Although, I wouldn't mind looking at your wares. I could always send a note home or two about them. she saw some fleeting movement in the backroom. Probably someone going off to get something for the elf. She dug herself more comfortably into the chair. It was cool in there and the last thing she wanted to do was head back outside onto the streets. She wouldn't keep them too long, but she could always use some refreshment and someone to talk to. She realized how few elves she'd seen, one or two in the crowd here and there. It was strange to be sitting here talking to one. Although, she supposed that they were more common than her kind, who usually just passed through. She'd ask about that, but something kept her tongue locked in her mouth. She'd been taught to be careful of what she said around elves. She wasn't sure of every mistake she could make, but she didn't want to make one. |

"Some tea would be fine, with ice even better, but I'm not picky.","You're a very talented woman." Lilly lightly dropped herself into the other seat, her legs tucked to one side in a lady like manner often displayed in elves, while at the same try she leg back in her chair in a relaxed manner, often seen in human male during leisurely hours in the pub. With a soft node of her head toward on of her ladies to the back room the order was quickly attended to. A flare of fire magic and a tickle of water magic quickly bough the sound of a tea pot hissing the ear as her ladies went to work. A misuse of magic really but still it made life ever so easier. Drawing her attention back to her guest and light nod and a tender smile rolled over her lips and she prised her current company. “ I thank you for the complement. I do love you slip on, very suiting. I’ve been thinking of buying some myself, growing a little tired of saddles myself, they don‘t offer much protection”, her tone was level as always and her body language of frequent as she often moved her hands and arms softly in gestures during speak. "To tell the truth I was indeed trying to find a place out of the blazing sun. It really is hot outside. Although, I wouldn't mind looking at your wares. I could always send a note home or two about them.” “Well I’m happy to have your company and your welcome to stay until the heat dies down”, she replied as one of her ladies enter with a silver tray displaying a fine metal tea pot and a pair of white bone china tea cup and a number of small cups of ice, sugar and a few herbs from the west which were used sometimes to spice up drinks. Lilly quickly thanked her lady and began pour herself and her guest a brew as the lady moved off to the back room to once more engage in banter with her fellows. “So what brings you to the city might I ask? Or are you a local, born and bread?”, she asked with a almost motherly softness and interested. It was odd to think Lilly was almost four times older than her company. |
