Radeah felt naked as she walked along the streets alone without her horse ,Yagos, heading toward the marketplace. She had left him to be taken care of by a former Ethrean man who lived in a farm house outside the city. Moving around here with a horse wouldn't have been practical. Here it was better to travel by foot or by some odd small technological device that Radeah didn't know what to call. Besides by traveling on foot she was like anybody else, there was nothing making people pay attention to her. Well, besides her natural appearance that men seemed to find pleasant. The spirit wouldn't stop whispering its advice. She obeyed gracefully and did what it told her to do. It was best to obey. The spirit was wiser than her.

Radeah bought a dark brown robe from a local merchant, like the spirit had told her to do, and covered her white, quality cotton, dress by wearing it. The fabric felt rough compared to her dress and the robes that Ethreans made but she would get used to it. She glanced around observing people and her surroundings. She made mental notes of things that could come in handy at some point. Radeah had to get to know the city before she could start killing the way the spirit told her to. Otherwise she would most likely make a bigger scene than she wanted to.

Radeah wiped her forehead with the corner of her robe to wipe off some road dust as she continued down the street. Suddenly she stopped. Every muscle in her body was tingling and tensed. The spirit was grave silent as it too was tensed. Radeah looked down at her tingling arm and raised it, facing her hand. She squeezed it into a fist and observed her veins and tendons pop out. She then threw a glance up, allowing her arm to relax. There was someone looking at her. And she could sense they knew a thing or two about void magic. Like an angered cat she was leering around with fierce eyes. She quickly continued down the road nudging anyone who tried to come on her way or expected her to be the one making room for them. "Get out of my way." She hissed, nudging a man harshly. Radeah looked for someone who could quickly point out an Inn for her so she would have a place to stay, and hide, at. Unfortunately she was too nervous to stop.

Another lovely day in the Market district,
another drunken vagrant being kicked awake by a city guard.

"Hey, lazy guy. Get the hell up before we arrest you for loitering. Not to mention the smell..."

Kite rolled his eyes as well as his hangover allowed him to, then slowly got up to his feet. He yawned, then shuffled out into the sun, shielding his eyes from the nearly blinding rays. It was the beginning ( or middle, for some people ) of a new day. And, as usual, it started terribly. First the guards, and now some random woman pushing her way through the streets. Kite raised an eyebrow, then yawned again. He kept his eyes on her though; she was quite beautiful. Maybe, if he played his cards right...

"OI!"

Kite said as he was nudged in the ribs by the woman. He wasn't normally one to get upset at such a thing, but hey, at least he could make conversation this way.

"Hey you, whaddaya mean get outta the way, eh? YOU nudged ME."

Kite followed her, noticing the tenseness of her movements. She seemed like someone hunted, or at least trying to hide ( and failing miserably at doing so ). But she didn't seem to be paying attention. So, like any other gentleman, Kite walked up to her and poked her in the head.

"Hey, you gonna apologize? Would be a pity to have to set someone as lovely as you on fire."

A man yelped at Radeah. Did she pay any attention to him? Not much. His words were meaningless to her. She was in a hurry to find a way out. She was slightly paranoid by nature but this time she had a hunch someone was following her. And she felt cornered in this strange city. "You were on my way." She muttered, glancing around, looking for anything that seemed promising.

Radeah heard the man follow him. Great, smart move hurrying through the crowd, now she had a stalker on top of things. "Hey, you gonna apologize? Would be a pity to have to set someone as lovely as you on fire." It sounded a lot like a threat to her, or a challenge. A cocky one. She froze to her feet and turned to face the man. She arched her brow as she looked at him up and down. HE was the one to threaten her? Radeah didn't feel worried over him in power wise. She sensed nothing interesting. Which meant he most likely didn't sense anything off of her either. And that was a good thing considering why she was here. Now the question was, what should she answer? Should she quickly apologize and continue her hasty search? Or should she answer with a threat? It was mighty confusing having to all of a sudden think on her feet.

The spirit wasn't pleased either but right now it was the calmer one. It was trying to make her seek for shelter against the person who could actually sense what she was, instead of paying attention to the new stalker. Radeah felt torn. "I think that if I was to apologize, it wouldn't be sincere. Hence there is no point in doing such." She said to the man with a pretentiously polite tone, keeping it short though she felt like shouting 'bring it on'. Yes, she just had to throw something back. The threat had gotten into her and she just had to react. Radeah turned and continued walking. Her mind was going extra rounds and fitting the man into her run of thoughts was a challenge.

"Oh, a ballsy one, aren't you?"

Said Kite, his normally grinning face turned to a scowl. He threateningly pointed in her direction.

"Listen you, I - OI, WHERE THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?"

Kite burst out as she turned around and walked away. People in the crowd were beginning to stare at him, but he didn't care. He wasn't going to be shown up by a woman, no matter how pretty she thought she was. He immediately started after her/

"Hey you brat, you can't just walk away in the middle of a conversation."

He said as he closed the distance with her. There was something a bit...Odd about her. But he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

The man was relentless. Radeah's eyes narrowed but she didn't stop. Didn't he have better things to do? Like going to a bar and drinking till he passed out? Surely that would be more interesting than chasing a woman who just didn't apologize. What on earth possessed this man to chase the disguised high priestess? Was it her looks? Or was he really that hot headed? Right, she's the one to talk, she has lost her temper several times before, even over the slightest things. And she had killed people for that.

"Hey you brat, you can't just walk away in the middle of a conversation."

This made Radeah stop. She turned to look at the man with anger filled eyes. "I certainly can, in fact, I just did. And I wouldn't call it much of a conversation." She hissed. She would have liked to kill him on that spot but it was such a public place. Someone was bound to witness it. Mertenah was whispering to her, it listed spells and shared knowledge. It was starting to get annoyed by the man too but the priority was to be unnoticed. Silently Radeah started to repeat a spell the spirit was whispering to her. She felt her body tingling . It felt like she had been shattering into pieces somehow, it didn't hurt, it was like she had been shedding her skin, though she wasn't. She was done with the spell. A smile rose to her lips as she looked at the man. "Let's see if the mouse can catch the cat." She bowed and suddenly her body scattered turning into a shadow. This way she could either get rid of the stalker or at least lead him to a place where there were less people. No one from the crowd had noticed her disappearance act. Well, she wasn't invisible but she was a shadow among dozens. Only difference was that she didn't belong to anyone, therefore she was free to move anywhere.

Radeah moved quickly, feeling lighter and more free than ever. She felt Mertenah's joy. The spirit loved the shadows, maybe it reminded it of home? Even spirits probably had some sort of a home. She headed toward a narrow alley nearby. It was the perfect place to be. The whole place was in the shadows. The sun didn't hit it. Not to mention there weren't people in there. From the alley she could see the beginning of the network of dozens of back alleys. It was like entering a labyrinth. She crawled along the walls of a building, like a normal shadow would do, till she decided she had to change back into her human form. She repeated a spell and it looked like she had formed out of the wall. Smoothly she stepped onto the alley in full human form. It was an odd sensation to change a form completely but this wasn't her first time. She threw a glance at the beginning of the alley to see if the man had managed to follow her, or had she lost him?

"I certainly can, in fact, I just did. And I wouldn't call it much of a conversation."

"Well, if you would have just apologized for being rude, we could have let this drop."

Kite replied, his anger slowly fading as it turned to mirth. My, how he loved to annoy people who were easily angered. It was a favorite, yet dangerous past time of his, and he ahd the scars to prove it. He watched her carefully, still looking for that odd thing about her that troubled him; And there it was. She was whispering a spell. But he wasn't sure if it was an offensive one, and he didn't want to waste his trump card at the beginning of a possibly battle.

"Let's see if the mouse can catch the cat."

The woman said as she shrank into the shadows. Kite was dumbstruck for a moment, not able to believe what had just happened.

'I've heard of this; She's a mage of the Void! And probably a strong one too. That spell is on level higher than my current ability...I'll have to be careful with this one.'

Kite thought for a moment, then with a smile worked his way through the crowd. His experiences as a bounty hunter and as a magic user were proving invaluable now. Where would any person on the run, and who used dark magic go? A dark alleyway, of course. So, when he spotted her at the other end of a Main Alley that lead to dozens of other back streets, he wasn't surprised.

"Really, you should be more original. I've chased dozens of bounties and contracts into places like this. It gets kinda of boring, after awhile."

He said, faking a yawn to rile her up even further.

"There is a reason people go into places like these," Radeah replied calmly though she was very disappointed to see him come after her. "They work." Her eyes were focused on the stalker and her lips were curved into a crooked smile. "My concern isn't originality." And, well, deep down she was original in her opinion. At least she didn't suffer from the use of void magic like others did. Her appearance remained, thank the spirit that wouldn't abandon her. That was enough for her.

In the alley Radeah could fight more freely if it was to come to that. The back alleys offered her a complicated route to escape; she could just lose the man in the damned labyrinth. "What do you want from me stranger? If it is a sincere apology I have already declined of that." She asked with a suspicious look in her eyes. She was slightly amused too: The man sure didn't lack persistence.

"Nah, you can shove the apology where the sun don't shine."

Kite said, his grin widening. He kept his right hand resting on the hilt of his sword as he took another step into the alley.

"It's just fun to annoy the hell out of you at this point, my surprisingly pretty void witch."

Kite snapped his fingers, producing a single flame from the tip of his thumb. It was barely enough to light the alleyway, but it would do.

"Oh, and I would just love to know how you keep your looks using that kind of magic. Is it alot of beauty sleep? Make up?"

He asked in a falsely sincere voice.

" Smart people do not annoy random strangers."
It was amusing that the mouse was annoying the cat. Radeah tilted her head with an ominous smile decorating her lips. The small spark of fire lit the alley slightly. His fire using ability didn't impress her. She straightened her back and raised her chin slightly.

"Oh, and I would just love to know how you keep your looks using that kind of magic. Is it a lot of beauty sleep? Make up?"

Radeah let out a soft chuckle and gave him a deep curtsy with a head bow. "A magician never reveals their tricks," she winked moving her index finger on her lips, "it's a secret." She straightened herself again. "We need to hurry. He is only dust my love. Let him be. We must hurry. We must leave." Suddenly Radeah's expression went completely empty. It was like she had been in a complete other word. She listened to the voices in her head and turned like she had completely forgotten the existence of the stalker. She started walking quickly along the alley, deeper into the labyrinth. "Leave me alone, mouse." She said with a flat tone, completely distracted by the directions the voices in her head were giving. Her movement was slightly twitchy now. Her head spun and she threw quick glances, trying to see everything at the same time. Her mind was racing again. She bit her nails as she followed the alley. A part of her mind had just stopped working. She was focused only on one thing; observing where the spirit told her to go. Not much fit into her thought world now besides that.

"A secret, eh?"

Said Kite as he opened his left hand, filling it with flames. His eyes narrowed as she turned around; Even from this distance he could see she had begun acting as if she was a puppet.

"Leave me alone, mouse."

The woman said echoing in the alley. It was probably wiser for him to do so. But Kite wasn't much for being wise. Instead, he'd let violence figure it out. He let the fire in his hand consume it as he made a fist, then punched the ground. The fire disappeared from his hand, instead violently popping out a few feet in front of Radeah. Although only the length of a small car, it was enough to cause anyone who tried to skirt around the small uncovered edges to be burned.

"No shadows anymore. So no running away."

Said Kite, crossing his arms at the other end of the alley.

The flames passed Radeah by an inch, licking the hem of her rope. She quickly put the fire out by tapping it off. The flames burned her hands and she cursed. " Are you out of your mind? You little flea!" She hissed with anger. Now the god spirit within her was starting to get angered too. It was causing her a head ache. This man was crazy. Not that she was sane either. Little flames wouldn't sure stop her from leaving.

"I can snap my fingers too, pest." She said snapping her fingers. A cloud of smog poofed up around the man. He would be blinded for a little while. The smog spread into the alley like a huge cloud of dust. The head ache Radeah had was getting worse. "Gahhh." She leaned her head against her palm. She could taste blood in her mouth though she was pretty sure she wasn't bleeding yet. She turned away from the man and turned into a back alley. She ran, gasping, feeling nauseous on running while having a head ache. She turned into another alley where she slowed down. Casting void spells drained her physical health too though it did not touch her appearance. Running in this shape sure wasn't the easiest thing. She walked further till she turned to yet another alley in the strange labyrinth of buildings.

Radeah gasped as the spirit whispered orders to her. She sincerely hoped the man lost her trail. There had been enough route options for him to get confused but there was always fool's luck. She looked down at her bare feet. She should have bought new sandals at the market. It was not easy to run bare feet if there was anything sharp on the ground. She forced herself to walk, feeling nervous about the idiot chasing her for no apparent reason. He just wanted to pick a fight. She wondered if he was suicidal. Probably yes.

Kite was stoic while she called him mad, as well as a flea, but he was not about to allow her to trap him with void magic. Although there were many spells he still could not preform, he was aware of their existance, and he was prepared to stop her if he could. He brought and a hand up to block his eyes, just in case, but immediately began coughing as the smog encased him.

'Oh hell. She went with a low level spell like this? How droll. She's no fun at all.'

Kite crawled forward, keeping his eyes shut to avoid the smog getting into his eyes and affecting his vision. Eventually, the cloud disapperated on its own. He slowly opened his eyes. Right in front of him, a set of footprints in the dust leading into the labrynth. Kite grinned.

"Seems the gods smile on me today; So you still have a flea on your back."

He said as he stood and followed the trail. He wasn't concerned about catching up; Tracking her to where she was going was fine.

Radeah stopped as she heard steps. The whispers got louder in her head. She covered her ears as if that had helped. Her head ache was strangling her mind and she couldn't think straight. She didn't run though she should have. No, she walked. "Silence, silence." She muttered. When the spirit was anxious it really did make her headache worse than ever.

The walls of the buildings felt endless, reaching high into the sky. She looked at them like they had been the most fascinating thing on earth. She forgot all about the man following her and carefully leaned against a building wall. She pressed her ear against it as if to listen. "Hello," she whispered with a smile, " how many secrets do you know?" Needless to say her sanity was flaky. Too much strain and pressure. She pushed herself away from the wall and strolled forward. Things were slightly spinning in her eyes so she remained close to the wall. The spirit was ordering her to go forward, so she did. There was no actual thought process from her part on walking. "Mousie, mousie followed a cat, a cat, a cat. This cat had a mind gone bad, gone bad, gone bad." She silently sang an odd limerick that sounded like a kids song.

Kite stopped as the sound of the limerick reached his ears. He could just see the woman in front of him, and he had no intention of making his presence felt anymore than he had to. Although, he finally figured out what it was that had bothered him about her; She was quite mad. Or at the very least, she seemed to slip in and out. Perhaps it was a ploy to throw him off his guard? He shrugged, thyen continued following her. Grinning, he decided to play along with her game, if she wasn't as mad as she seemed.

"Kitty Kitty, ran away, away, away. Although the mousie's come to play, play, play."

"Get some Papaver ." Radeah hissed at herself. "But I don't have any." She replied. "In your bag." She focused into talking to herself completely, ignoring the overly curious man. "I left it with Yagos." "No you didn't." The argument was getting her other half annoyed as it insisted she had Papaver with her but the other one kept denying such. She looked inside her robe and discovered she had a few herb bags hanging on a rope that she had tied around her waist. "I stand corrected." She nodded and stopped.

She dug up a small bag and opened it. "You wish me to fall asleep?" She asked like an obedient servant. "No! I need your mind to be calm." Radeah replied with annoyance, rolling her eyes. She then ate a very small amount of her herbal mix.

"Is the man behind us?"
"Yes."
"Is he bothering you?"
" Yes."
"Should we do something?"
"No. Just continue walking, he is insignificant."
"He is a mouse?"
"Yes, just like I told you."

The dialog was over. She was left staring in front of her with empty eyes. She then continued strolling along the alley, like someone whose mind was miles away. The Papaver was meant to calm her mind enough to stay somewhat sane but such small amount took it's time to affect the correct way. The spirit knew it was stressing her too much, that was why it insisted she'd have Papaver. "Leave me alone." She muttered half sane to the man. She was tired of him and the Papaver was certainly adding her attention span. Enough to feel vaguely frustrated, along feeling floaty and high.
