First off, I'd like to say hi, and would like to encourage feedback on this topic, 'cause I seriously feel like I'm talking to myself here. Here's what you guys can do: ● Guests: Those who haven't registered. They can read but may not post on the board. ● Validating: Those who have registered, but I haven't validated yet. Again, they can read but may not post. ● Non-poster: Those who have not posted on the board. They may read, reply and vote in polls, but can't start topics, nor can they edit their posts. All other features disabled. ● Newbie: Those who have posted at least one post. They have the abilities of non-posters, plus they can: › email or PM members on the board (1 email in a 24hr period, 10 storable PMs). › edit their profile information ● Junior Member: Those who have posted at least ten posts. They have the abilities of newbies, plus they can: › use search (one search per 40sec intervals) › use email feature unrestricted › have 20 PMs stored › upload avatars › start new topics (except in Forum News) › start new polls › edit their own topic title and description ● Member: Those who have posted at least 25 posts. They have the abilities of junior members, plus they can: › use search more (one search per 20sec intervals) › have 50 PMs stored › edit their own posts And, of cause there's the admins and mods. Of cause, this list isn't final - as the number of posts grow (a thing that seems unlikely), I'll add more stuff. I actually don't know if not letting new peeps post new topics is a little harsh; I'm thinking of allowing it for now and reinstating the limit as we grow. Secondly, I'd like to say: please don't beg me to be mod or anything. It's annoying, no-one ever posts anything to moderate, and it's not like this place is overflowing with spambots. That being said, I have suspicions that this place is overflowing with spambots (however, it's so dead around here that even they don't post...), so, any Non-Poster who doesn't do anything for Finally, if you see any weird symbols in the place of bullet points above, let me know. (The squares are supposed to be there.) |
