I had managed to get invited to join a behind-the-scenes tour of a number of rail sites in the area and decided to make a long weekend of it with the Missus. In anticipation of a fruitful weekend I had ensured I had sufficient slide film plus VHS tapes and batteries for the camcorder ... arriving at Beamish I opened the back of the car and discovered I had forgotten to pack either camera ... words cannot express my feelings at that moment Nick
