When I was at prep school, there were the remains of a gravity-powered railway for about 150m along the edge of the playing field, which curved round from one high up corner down to the main school. A couple of trollies on which pupils could lie and race down the single track were the only stock. No idea as to gauge - old 1930s pics suggest about 12". But it was properly ballasted and was proper track.

There's also the excellent Down's School railway which still exists (a proper one, rather than our little affair).

I think there was also one down near Wareham.

Are there any other lines in existence that run in school grounds for the pupils? I'm excluding temporary tracks at fetes etc.
