yes, the "Pioneer" and "Childrens" Lines were very different; Children's Railways were there to educate young people, mostly in the communist countries. Exactly what the Pioneer lines were for, I'm not sure. Are they just narrow gauge pleasure lines or did they have more of a transport use? There are still a number of the Pioneer and Children's railways open. The father of a friend of mine here at Meteorite 'worked' on one as a child in Romania. If I could find a home of one of the eastern 2ft6" TU-2 locos back here to the UK, I'd look to bring one back. Russian themed railway, anyone? Edited by Timbo, 29 Sep 2008, 11:52 AM.
