Excellent!! When you said soon the other day, I had no idea of how soon!! Congratulations on reuniting the seven Minirail Longleat/Axe & Lyme coaches, I know a lot of work has gone into this behind the scenes and in the course of things I think the Minirail history was rewritten... with lots of interesting discoveries on the way. As David says, there were 7 of these tubular framed coaches, three with low armrests (already at Sherwood Forest) and four with higher armrests, which have lingered at Lappa Valley for 20-odd years. The bogies from these are under the Lappa Valley's own stock and match those under 'Goram' at Windmill Farm, and are different to those under the Minirail coaches already running at Sherwood Forest. A very revealling picture can be seen on the Longleat Railway Website here with the four high armrest coaches visible, plus The Cub, Zebedee and the mystery open coach 'no 1' (on left). Colin |
