i got an email today from MRW forum, which stated that not many people had responded to the request for mods to the site... i feel like i have had a naughty letter sent home from school to my parents, so to ease my conscience, i am putting in my bit..... i totally agree with the 'posts since your last visit' idea! im not often away for more than a day, but it would be nice on that rare occasion, to be able to see whats been happening, rather than having to find it, or back track to see whats been said... my next thing is, i noticed the other night when looking at the members page, that there are quite a large number of members who have never posted. I think it would be 'polite & sociable' that part of the signing up process requires that at the very least, you put a 'hello i'm so and so' message before you become a full member of the forum. Suppliers & Services topic... i think for those of us who are involved in the construction & maintenance of locos & rolling stock, and permanent way etc, it would be very very useful to have a page devoted to listing suppliers of various railway related items, and also any companies that have provided a service in a railway related way. This could also include feedback etc... Also, this section could allow members to advertise their services. i.e, if they are able to do a certain task, such as machining, welding, designing, electrical equipment. they could advertise themselves, if they are willing to undertake jobs for others, for cash, or 'swapping', which could benefit others... ... thats all i can think of so far...
