Having decided to postpone my Gn15 industrial modelling in favour of a miniature railway, I was wondering which scale to model in. The choices would be based on "OO9" 9mm gauge track so that would give primarily GNine (9" gauge prototype), 1:32 (12" gauge), or O9 (15" gauge). The main problem would, I think, be sourcing suitable passenger figures especially since GNine would need sit-astride rolling-stock and there don't seem to be many G-scale figures suitable for that! O9 (and possibly 1:32) could mean sit-inside coaches which would alleviate the passenger problem, but I really wanted to go for the seaside "round-the-putting-green" railway for which a 15" gauge prototype would not be appropriate, but GNine probably would. Does anyone in the group have any ideas - other than taking a hacksaw to Preiser G-scale figures?? |
