Callum - livery is likely to be green... It seems to have been a while since the last update, much of the last month has been spent altering, adjusting and adding bits to the loco body, it has all taken longer than expected, but I am now prioritising this loco in order to (hopefully) have her ready for September. A lot of metal parts have gone on since the last update, some are firmly fixed in place, others such as pipework free until after painting. ![]() Chimney and dome are LMS 8F parts, the dome needed some alterations to suit a parallel boiler! ![]() Lubricator is scratchbuilt from a lump of Dapol railbus underframe part! ![]() Safety valves are from the spares box (well, Dad's spares box...), surround from more Dapol railbus undergubbins. Injectors soldered up from wire and a spilit pin, steam pipe from wire. ![]() Tender is much modified Farish 8F, with the coal space cut out, new framing and steps around the base, new bufferbeam and N-Brass buffers. ![]() The other side of the loco. I am not too happy with the handrails, the finest 4mm scale knobs I could find are too big really. An order is in for 2mm scale knobs and finer wire, this will mean I have to plug the holes in the boiler with plastic rod, fill and re-drill. But it should look better! Not far from the paintshop now, I hope Colin |
