The Shibden Park Railway was taken over by Robert Trout over the Easter weekend. Mr Trout who is a good friend of the operating team at the Kirklees Light Railway has begun a programme of improvements to both rolling stock and permenant way. |

Improvements continue to be made at Shibden Park. The p way has been fettled including ballasting and levelling. The three Brian Taylor built bogie coaches have been withdrawn from service and two new bogie coaches designed by Ian Screeton of the Kirklees Light Railway have been introduced. The underframes were constructed by Ian and the bodywork was finished by Robert Trout, the first coach has been named Rebecca. The 4wD??? that had been built at Shibden was delivered to Clayton West yesterday where it will be rebuilt into a useable machine, hopefully a wee bit better finished. It has yet to be decided whether the two concrete gate posts above the front end will remain on the rebuilt loco! |

Here it is, mounted on the well wagon, ready for this weekend's shenanigans (see separate thread). It's a diesel electric, with some interesting wiring... ... ![]() (Picture taken on my phone) Dom |
