In St Helier's Museum there is a model [gauge unknown] locomotive of the Jersey Railway's locomotive No.3 "Corbiere".

Apparently, this model loco once ran as a passenger hauling engine - presumably on Jersey. It is also said that it was built using materials reclaimed from the scrapped original No.3. This was scrapped in 1937, so the model must post date that date.

Anyone have any more information on this loco? - the museum would be keen to find out more as they have no record of the model's history.

Dom, sorry for the delay in replying - missed the fact someone had responded!

No I haven't any pics unfortunately - not seen it myself either. I have searched the online index for Model Engineer without success.

How interesting. I suggest that the museum contacts the Pallot Museum Trust on the same island as they have a couple of members more versed in local railway history. Next time I'm on Jersey I'll ask. But I'm sure they've already tried there. Still breaks my heart to see the remains of the sentinel railcar rotting away to nothing at Pallot - and nobody wants to save it. Heyho.

Well, I'd like to save it...except for the fact that I have no money to restore it and nowhere to put it! :rolleyes

Sorry, I'm dragging us off topic aren't I...
