Any advice would be greatly received,
Has anyone had any dealings with selling a Miniature Railway (10 1/4 guage) as a going concern / business where to advertise etc ..... I know it sounds like a silly question just dont know what or where to start ...

As a commercial operation, you would be best placed to send some brief details to the enthusiast magazines - including Heritage Railway, Steam Railway, Seven and a Quarter Gauge Soc (some in there may still be interested), Miniature Railway Magazine and Narrow Gauge News. You would also want to consider contacting the local newspaper to run a story as it would be of interest to the readers and somebody local might want to step in.

Most of the readership of the above mags are enthusiasts, but there will be readers who are operators, or know people who would be interested.

I would advise against selling a business on ebay - unless you want to put it on there just to gain awareness.

Make sure that you are able to provide commercial information such as turnover, profit/loss, leases, forecasts etc - serious parties will ask for that rather than want to know the nuances of the locomotives and stock, although these are important too.
