In http://www.wildyorkshire.co.uk/naturediary/docs/2003/7/12.html it mentions in the third paragraph that the railway is being restored. The info is 5 years old. Can any one add any thing to this.

Thanks.

I seem to recall something in an old NGN about a length of track going in for show only, but nothing about restoring the railway there.

They have made a railway garden which comprises of a shot length of old track and made it look overgrown, this is opposite the cafe and at the site of the old station. As far as I know they have no plans to re-open any of the line. Last time I went to the park was at least a year ago even though I live only 2 miles away.

David,
This all refers to the station area only. When I made enquiries a few years back about putting a railway in somewhere they made it clear it wasn't on the cards.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't these locos go through Ron Redman and Andrew Neales hands at one point. As they are both local to Golden Acre Park I think they would have liked to do something there. I think Ron was instrumental in getting the bit of track reinstated in the garden.

Yes - both in full working order at Scarborough.
