I believe the maunfacturer was 'Dutton', and was linked to RPI. Have never sen one myself, I think they fitted a much modified Farish chassis.

There is an 0-4-0 'Katie' due later this year from N-Drive, with custom chassis and (I believe) outside frames. his will be a resin bodyshell and the prototype looks promising....

N-Drive started out making chassis to replace Ibertren 'Cuckoo' and Bachmann 0-4-0 chassis that a lot of 009 kits use but are no longer available. I can't find a website, or recall one for that matter.

There is a picture of the pre-production Katie on the Gnatterbox here - I have heard no more since that picture was posted.

N Drive is a one man effort by 009 Society member Neville Kent. He does have a website but I don't know if it is maintained in an up to date status. I've just had a very quick look through the site and did not see any mention of the Heywood kit that Neville brought a pre-production example to Expong last year. However the website does have contact details so you can always ask him if he is able to give any clues for proposed release dates! Try this link: http://www.n-driveproductions.com/

I have chased Neville again, he says he might - a big might - be able to let me have something for September to take along to the CCLR Gala. I will try to remember to post if anything turns up.

I'd say that's an understatement! If the paintwork is done to the same standard, as I'm sure it will be, she'll be a superb model

Peter, that motion looks superb. Look forward to seeing it painted, fully linned out with a nice load of coal over the boiler... :P

Have to say that even though it wasn't painted, and didnt run in one direction, and couldnt be turned upside, and that i hate heywood engines...it did look pretty good as a model :)

The problem with not running in one direction is beacuse somebody, and I won't identify whom, turned it upside down :rolleyes Problem was with a loose cross head. This won't happen on the production locos I am assured. Once I had put the cross head back into place it ran both ways very smoothly
The painting is being done by Paul Windle, if I can get hold of the loco before it goes back to Scotland! I will get some pics and post.

Nev of N-Drive Productions is now saying that he can do an 'Effie' in 7mm. I will keep you updated, even those that don't like Heywood locos

Not as far as I know. Apparently Neville had the Loco at ExPong over the weekend, not sure how much interest!
He has promised to let me know as soon as it is avaulable as I have sort of pre ordered one. I think the price for the kit will be in the region of £95, not heard any different. When I hear something I will post the details
