Gala update

As you know, the May 1st-4th gala is the works outing, so if it runs; its out! You can expect to see:
RHDR Typhoon, SRRL No.24, No.1 Sutton Belle, No.2 Sutton Flyer, LNER 111 Yvette, Effie, Mountaineer (straight out from extensive cylinder overhaul).

Toby (straight out from overhaul), The Cub (straight out from long overhaul), SMR No.4 Dudley, BMR DA1

Pluss, one or 2 big suprises *wink wink*
The gala will also feature lifting demonstrations from the newly arrived 15" gauge scale steam crane "Little Titan", engineer's trains featuring "Little Titan" with suitable motive power, plus other good's trains, intensive time tables, and early morning/late night running.

Also during the gala weekend, Griffin hall museum at Lakeside station will play host to the annnual Lions Beer festival, as well as the annual transport extraveganza on the boating lake paddock next to Lakesde station with many classic vehicles!

With so much going on, why not make a visit to Cleethorpes early May, and have a ride on the train, watch a lifting demonstration, see many interesting classic vehicles, and have a nice cool pint or two, in the warm late spring sun!
:)

Is Typhoon going 2 make it around the line whole though? I hope so as I'd love to have another weekend in Cleethorpes driving a Romney loco, but are the curves not 2 tight?

Can we not drift into the will-it-fit-won't-it-fit debate again!

Was told to book accomodation, by powers that be at Romney today. So I'm there for the weekend

Managed to get a cottage within walking distance of Lakeside station, so that will keep both me and the family happy :D

I'm guessing 'cottage' is just marketing speel, more like a house. Did look nice on the website tho, and it means i won't be stuck at the other end of town
