Just thought I'd notify you all of the special events at Ruislip this year.

Easter Eggspress
12th/13th April

Special trains running to Haste Hill station where the Easter Bunny distributes eggs. Normal train service also in operation.

Open Weekend
25th/26th July

A chance to go "behind the scenes" at the railway, including the workshops.

Santa Specials
29th November
6th, 13th, 20th December

Santa gives outs presents, etc....

For steam fans, the return of Mad Bess is currently hoped for in "late Spring", which I think means she will probably miss the Easter Eggspresses. Hopefully she will be running again by the summer but, as always, she will be subject to availibility...

Without being rude is Mad Bess always out of track, it comes back and then its out of traffic again.

Really I think the root cause of that is that we don't have enough people left at Ruislip with the steam expertise to maintain her. :( However at the moment she is having her 10-year overhaul, which was always inevitable. It's being done by an outside contractor so hopefully it won't overrun too much (though I think the date has already slipped a little)...

Thats fair enough, maybe its about time they trained some more people such as yourself up before there is no one left to operate her.
