Tuesday ..... filmed the 2' gauge at Amberley, 12.25" gauge at Hotham Park and 2' gauge at Hayling ... almost 40 minutes of video and umpteen photos LOST after formatting errors!!!!

Wednesday ... filmed the 12.25" gauge at Hotham Park and 2' gauge at Hayling AGAIN ... this time the camera only corrupted the video of the ride at Hotham Park

Managed to visit and ride on the Royal Victoria and Exbury Gardens Railways on Thursday, followed by a visit and ride on the Poole Park Railway today.

Photographs to follow when 'dongles' and family commitments permit.

Another change of plan today as we discovered this morning that Plowman's Railroad won't run again until May BH weekend :(

Visited Eastleigh Lakeside Railway again to see the return to service of the "Britannia" class 70055 'Rob Roy' and the A4 class 4498 'Sir Nigel Gresley'.

After the ELR we visited the nearby Bankside Miniature Railway and then the Moors Valley Railway (pictures of the latter to follow).

the bankside railway is very strange not just being 8.25 gauge but using a sector plate to turn the train and loco
JORDAN ASHLEY LEEDS

Trains go into tunnels and come out but locos can go in sheds and never come out

I believe Cuckoo Hill only runs during the Fruit picking season.
Chatting to the operator this afternoon I was advised that the intention is to run most weekends and more days during the school holidays. It was signposted as running 11:00 - 17:00 today.

Cuckoo Hill Railway
I'd be interested in any details about the Cuckoo Hill Railway. I've seen it on the BGLR poster many times but have never managed to find any information about it. It certainly looks to be built along similar lines to Moors Valley and Swanley New Barn - chunky narrow-gauge locos, and similarly-built coaches.

It looks an interesting little line and certainly one I would like to visit should the opportunity arise.

Does anyone have any more details about it asides what's mentioned n this thread?? Length? Stock? Layout?? etc.

Cheers,

As with all the other railways visited during this break I will be posting video on youtube as soon as I get a better link than this mobile dongle! I have tried to upload a film of a trip on this line but without success ... when I do publish it then most of your questions will be answered. A good idea of the line can be obtained from following the link above to my fotopic gallery for this line.

The loco was built at Moors Valley and is Hortons sister locomotive.....hence the resenblance.

From what I understand is that the stock is basically whats in the picture, although we keep trying to persuade them to buy a diesel locomotive.
