Good evening ladies and gentlemen

We are looking for a guest loco 10.1/4", preferably steam, to come to our railway on the 8-9 August.

The park that we work in is run by Nene Park Trust and it will be their 21st birthday weekend, before we bought the railway it used to run steam but that ended in 2000, and we thought it would be nice to celebrate with a steam loco back there for a short time.

We have half a mile of track with a turntable at both ends, the turntables can take a 17' 6" loco, and there is plenty of room in the shed for another one, we run six coaches and can carry up to 62 passengers.

If you can and would like to spend a weekend at FMR please email me at david@ferrymeadowsrailway.co.uk leave your phone number ( land line please, I don't like mobiles ) and I will give you a call.

I'm very disappointed that we never had one reply to the above, when we talk to other operators they often say
"We had a guest loco here for a couple of weeks, it was very popular". and a freind of mine runs a 7.1/4" and he loves to go to other places for a weekend, and often does.
I think it's to close now for anybody to come and have a look, so we will just carry on as we are.

Hi David . I think you're problem is timing mate . unfortunately most railways are flat out during the school summer hols and therefore have not got the spare staff or locos . this is why most galas are not in the peak season plus they bring in extra punters at an otherwise quiet time . thats why our gala at rudyard is in october . cheers and hope you have a good summer .Mark.

Hi Mark
I think my problem is not stopping to think, as you say we are all flat out in July/August, I now think we might have a go in September or even October half term holiday.

When GAT's rebuild is finished you are quite welcome to have him (obviously not this year). However, as Gavin's 37 struggled to pull your coaches GAT might struggle as well.
