I've always felt that the Goddess quality is that she portrays the class as Greenly designed.
You can see the lines very clearly, in particular the boiler and firebox area. How the overall feel for the locomotives has been changed by the subtle shaping of cladding sheets in the other engines, even adding a subtle degree of tapered boiler.

The Goddess is easily identifiable as the quintessential RH&DR Greenly design.
I agree there. The only thing that spoils it for me is the big tender...I hope the RHDR heritage group might consider painting the preserved Greenly tender apple green to run with her on special occasions. And perhaps we might see the smokebox dart swapped for a wheel too?

And speaking of smokeboxes, is it just me or have Romney smokebox doors got more rounded over the years? A small detail I know, but I think it has a big impact on a loco's appearence...

What preserved tender? AFAIK the Heriatage group only has a tender body.

I wouldn't have thought there was much chance of that, especially as the (rebuilt) Greenly tenders were both withdrawn from service after a very short period (You all know why) and have been replaced by the new tenders currently behind Hercules & Samson. Which I beleive used the Greenly tender running gear, albeit lengthend and with brake gear fitted.
