One heck of a set up, there! Wasn't sure it was 7.25" until I recognised the green tender loco as a T2 and saw the Tinkerbells.

Anyone else able to shed light on the line?

Cheers,

Dom

Wow... what a lovely track. Something of a cross between the Birchley Railway and Moors Valley.

What is the design of the tender locos - is that based on a Tinkerbelle?

The green one is a Thomas 2 - couldn't see enough of the red one.

There were two Tinkerbell's in the vid - "Sir Robert" (black one with cab - modified to 0-4-4), and the open-cabbed blue loco. The light brown one is an Exmoor.

Mr. Holroyde, over to you... ..? :P :)

I think it's somewhere in Kent or Sussex, but it's totally private with entry on invitation only :-(

Did anyone else catch the Bo-Bo around the 6'-21" mark? Looks an interesting machine and would love to a little more about the loco and also the line. Noticed a very impressive engine shed in the background and more than a few lovely signals. Anyone have a trackplan?
"Mister, where does the petrol go?"
What do they teach kids in school these days???;)

The Wayside Light Railway is near Maidstone in Kent and is an extensive 7.25" gauge line based purely on narrow gauge lines. If anyone can get hold of a copy of my video 'Passenger Carrying Garden Railways' (Festival Video), or Miniature Railway Round-up Vol.2 they will find the Wayside features heavily in both.

The 'diesel' to which David refers was the first of three built by Tony Crowhurst of Crowhurst Engineering. It was built as a petrol hydraulic and is based on an actual design that Tony discovered while in South Africa. The 'real' loco is 'semi-preserved' on a farm in South Africa but is not in a runnable condition. The other two built by Tony are owned by Brett Rodgers (7.25") and Lord Braybrooke (Audley End 10.25").

The railway is private and access is by invitation only on certain open days, according to posts on the Miniature Railways Yahoo group.
