Thanks Lawrence, it is a blend of EWT, Prince William and some Sutton-esque bits!

Two important jobs got completed yesterday... the springs on the trailing truck...

and a very important bit - the driver!!

He is a chopped around Prieser copy, with German airman's legs!

not based on anyone is it? :ninja
Your train is cancelled due to the lack of the tea can on the footplate.

This is what happens when teamwork occurs!

You simply cannot get the staff these days... rolleyes :P :ninja

Look, we just go to the Somerthorpe JobCentrePlus (which looks very like a Chineese takeaway container) and get the best man for the job....

Now Callum thinks it might be based on someone, all I can say is that Roy Steele is an entirely fictional character and any resemblance to any miniature railway employee, past or present, is entirely co-incidental... ;)

Hi Callum, it's in grey primer, very few, if any niggles to sort out, so during the week I'll be masking off the bits that should be black ready to spray the body colour. Will try and get a pic...

The driver is also in the paintshop and looking a little on the grubby side!

If you ask Colin nicely he might even post the pictures that he has put on NGRM-online so that you can see the progress. Looking forward to seeing this at Cleethorpes in September.

Before our excursion to Wales the Pacific emerged from the SMR paintshop, after a little running in she is now ready to make a public debut at Cleethorpes over the weekend of 5th/6th September.

A sneak preview if I may...

After the Cleethorpes debut the only other chance to see 'King George VI', and indeed Shifting Sands in public will be at the Retford exhibition over the weekend of 21st/22nd November 2009.

Yet another superb locomotive turned out by the SMR workshops. You've really caught the essence of the beastie and the paintwork look spot-on. Well done, Colin. I feel I may have to wait for Retford show to see her in the flesh though. :(

BTW, how did you get the photo's so clear? They'd be great if you was photographing an 0 Gauge loco, never mind an N Gauge one! I don't think folk would believe you if you put the actual dimensions :D

All the best, David

It is a good job that there isn't an online measure of jealous drooling ...cos I am sure I would be in breach of EU limits in my drooling at the skills you seem to combine so effortlessly Colin ... congratulations on yet another fine production.
