After my first trip from Sheffield to Denby Dale station (which was very nice), was met by Craig and we popped in to the 4 mile Kirklees Light Railway.

There have been numerous improvements made since I last visited, the cafe and shop has been refitted, Shelley is developing quickly and not to mention the restored DMU. Good to see.

Fox was in operation on our visit, which was looking and running very well fresh from the workshops, whilst Hawk was also in steam, I think doing driver experience courses earlier on in the day. Jay was also with the freight train at Shelley.

Thanks to Stuart and the team at KLR for their hospitality.

Here are some photos:

Hi Peter,

Nice pics there. Is that Dom in the second picture and Callum in the forth?

Yes, members everywhere, making star appearances. The sunny weather obviously attracted people and volunteers alike to the railway, as it was busy.

Thanks
Peter

Dom was guard for the day, and Callum was on the footplate.

Any more Callum/Dom questions asked off forums please! :P

Thanks
Peter
