If i remember rightly the 15" Scot is privately owned and based somewhere in Derbyshire. I think it had a short spell working at Cleethorpes but i cant be sure. Has anyone got any photos? Would be interesting to see.

If the V2 is being built on a farm in Derbyshire then yes, if not then its a definate no. The chap who owns it also owns a Basset Lowke atlantic which i think was/is called Prince Edward although i might be wrong on the name. As John said Chris or Smithy may be able to shed more light on it :P

Edit to remove private location clue... Colin

Gents, the Carland 'Royal Scot' ex Seaburn, Cleethorpes and Lightwater Valley is in private hands. Please do consider this before speculating its whereabouts. I can confirm that the owner also has the ex-Southport, Whorlton and Lightwater Valley Class 20 Little Giant 'King George'.

I know many people do know where it is and who owns it but this information should not be shared on an open forum.

PS, can we also refrain from discussing the (private) location of the V2!!

I can not give times and dates of when it was with us. Colin is spot on as per norm with where it has been running. At some stage it was converted to an ic loco with the engine in the tender and the drive where the boiler should be. It had just been converted back when it came to Cleethorpes. If I remember right it was with us for about a year. It was quite a nice loco but didnt steam all that well if memory serves me right. I will have a look at all my pics and see if I can come up with some more of it.

I've seen the Scot in the last few years, and it is in safe hands. It's in a workshop under overhaul and its time will come when its owner gives up rallying his traction engines. Worry not about it.

Worry not about it.
And with that I shall close the topic as it is worthless discussing the matter further until such a relevant time.

Thanks,

Dom

Topic re-opened as people may wish to post about its history.

However, we need not discuss any more regarding its location.

I remember seeing it running at Lightwater. The next vehicle behind the tender was a 4 wheel box van (which has been mentioned before on another thread) which housed the gear to work the air brake on the carriages if I remember rightly. I'm pretty sure it was restricted to two carriages, whilest the Rio that was based there was able to haul the remainder.

Only just picked up on this. I drove it occasionally during it's time at Cleethorpes. It had a very small and narrow firebox and was really a bit too small for the length of the line. If you started a run with anything less than a full head of steam and a good boilerful of water you'd be in trouble. If you shut the regulator you put the blower straight on to keep it on the boil. Quite a challenge really, but I feel lucky to have had the chance to experience it.
