Have just read the link per the first post http://www.exbury.co.uk/website/david_shepherd_cbe.aspx

Paragraph 9 says

The artist and other railway enthusiasts will have the choice of six steam engines to ride behind during the weekend – Exbury’s three engines, Naomi, Rosemary and Mariloo will be joined by visitors Lorna Doone, Ellie and an unnamed engine from Exmoor Steam Railway, whose owner Trevor Stirland built all Exbury’s rolling stock.

Talking to some of the Exbury staff when I visited there yesterday, I understand that 2 of the 3 visiting locos planned for next weekend may now be unavailable, leaving just Exmoor Steam Railways own Lorna Doone to make the trip up from Devon. Although this could change (website at the moment still says 3 visiting locos) it would be worth checking before anyone makes the journey specially for the event.

Speaking to Exmoor tonight they are still expecting 3 locos to go but as always its worth checking at the last minute. They are also likley to be there the following weekend.

Here's hoping that the event goes ahead as planned; its an ambitious plan, but one that definately deserves our support! I'm sure the Stirlands have got everything under control.

I'll be there on the Sunday. Is anyone else on here going? This is turning into a bit of an unofficial MRW meet...

If 3 visiting locos are confirmed then we'll attempt Saturday afternoon. With free train rides at Bekonscot all weekend, I've decided that trying to run a small steam loco in between the commercial services is going to be rather stressful. So I'll have a weekend off from driving steam locos and play with the new car instead ;)

I'm planning on going tomorrow (Sunday) with the family, can any one who's been today (Saturday) let us know what was actually there and running?

Thanks a lot.
Andrew.

Domestic authorities have other plans so we won't be going today.

At last, managed to drag the family out to a railway for a day.
And guess what, none of them turned to stone!!!
Took some photos (not many) and will upload them latter. Going to sort out a photo album on one of my web domains.

Anyway, here's a shot of the whole operating fleet at about 4:30pm on Sunday.

Never thought I'd see a 12.25" gauge lineup to beat the Fairbourne fleet, but I think this one might just clinch it! :ninja I'm disappointed I wasn't able to make this event, but there we are. I await the rest of the photos with anticipation!

Also visited today, having decided against yesterday due to the weather. Arrived in time for the 12.30 departure, which was a quadruple header with Lorna Doone, Naomi, the un-named Mariloo sister and Ellie, owned by one of our forum members. Fantastic!

As we left William had managed to finally get Ellie to the front of the train, where she was clear of the muck being thrown out by the others locos.

Great day & an amazingly well planned line.

3 of the 4 locos lined up waiting to depart. Ellie was hidden by the signal post!

Exmoors Lorna Doon (which version?) and Exbury's own Naomi.

Our own Williams new loco "Ellie" looked superb.
