I was at the Vanstone Woodland Railway today "on business" - Meteor IV was running the service train:

The latest arrival at Vanstones is this steam outline bodywork, which will be the replacement for Gat as the "children's play locomotive":

The bodywork was originally from a steam outline loco built by Ray Prime that ran on the Buxton Miniature Railway. The chassis of the loco is with a private owner, who sold the bodywork on as he will be constructing a new body.

I also went over to Knebworth House, where Meteor V was running with a steady stream of passengers.

Photos can be found here for Knebworth and here for Vanstones.

Charles,

Thanks for the photos, an interesting two sets.

Interesting to see where the ex Buxton locomotive ended up. Will the chassis and the new body be running at any public railways in the future, do you know?

Thanks
Peter

I believe the owner of the Buxton line has an extensive private railway and will be running it there - doubt it will be seen in public for a while!
