A couple of interseting locos were present at the 7 1/4" Gauge Society AGM over the last weekend in September. Robert from Holland brought along a nice looking and very smooth running 0-4-0 narrow gauge loco called "Nestor". I understand this was built by the same person that built the 15" gauge "Chough" and (DGH please confirm) "Mountaineer. A superb LNER 01 in grey livery. A shay imported from New Zealand. Two identical "River" class locos (similar in looks to Katie and Sian. There were approx 70 locos at the event and I understand over 700 badges ditributed to members, associates and friends. Congratulations to all the Leyland members for organising such a superb event - they even managed to organise three days without any noticeable rain. John |
