Athelstan has been out visiting the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway this last few weeks and thanks to Russ Green a video of last Sundays steaming is available on Youtube:

Hope you enjoy watching. Athelstan returns to the Moors Valley this weekend, but may be in steam again later this week.

All the best,

Tim

Muztrem - thanks for sharing some great photos. The problem was a broken bolt on the lifting link on the right hand side, which was repaired quickly and the loco ran well the following day.

I'm not sure if Athelstan will be in steam on Friday - I'll let you know; but it is being returned to the Moors Valley on Saturday morning.

Overall the visit has been a great success and the loco has proved it's design and, more importantly, the suspension changes which were made earlier in the year. The team at Eastleigh has been great to work with and they have put a lot of effort into making the visit a success - thanks chaps.

Note to Stu - if you stop breaking it I'll get on with finishing it!! :rolleyes

Cheers for the updates Tim; it is much appreciated!

Are there any plans for "Athelstan" to be in steam midweek next week at all; or is tomorrow its final run for this visit? I'd love to pop over and see it (I'm in university in Bath, so its not a million miles away), but unfortunately I'm rostered to guard a Hallowe'en special this Sat eve, at my local line back home (the Gwili) instead. Fun still, but....d'oh!

Any plans for a midweek steaming - or next weekend?

Hi Buddles,

Sorry, but today was the last day in steam for this trip.....unless transport problems prevent the move back to the Moors next weekend.

If you're at uni in Bath the Moors Valley would be closer, unless transport is an issue.

Enjoy your turn on the Gwili, its a very nice line.

All the best

Tim
