The Belfast & County Down Miniature Railway Society was conceived in 1991. The Driving Force Mr David Tedford.

Over the past twenty years the railway has expanded and now has some 2 1/2 Kilometres (1 1/2 miles) of track. The 7 1/4" Gauge Society held their 1999 AGM here.

Phase I of the extension was opened in 2009 and Phase II opened at Easter 2011.

The Society has a website www.bcdmrs.org.uk

Nice to see some pics of Finn MacCool's 'other' railway! I saw it pretty much every day while Brian was staying here last summer, from my office window on the BHLR!

She's a lovely engine. One of the best looking. I'd love to visit BHLR sometime.

It has a very loud whistle as well. I heard it faintly from Seaton hole once, round the other side of the cliff from Beer.
