The Modelling Category is the only place I can see this falling into, I am an avid Microsoft train Simulator user and I have downloaded many 15 inch models, I have downloaded a representation of the Duffield Bank Railway, and have also downloaded a model of Effie, heres a screenshot of her descending the gradient down to the Canal:

I am very impressed with what is possible with this software, and I think we can allow 'virtual' modelling in this section for the time being, however please stay on-topic to miniature/minimum gauge lines and try not to get into general software issues!

I have edited the topic title to better reflect the content.

If we do get a lot of posts on this subject we can consider a new forum section in the future.

I know Ben who produced that model and Jon who makes Microsoft models, they are both members on this forum. I am running the website for their expansion for the Kirklees Light Railway.

Something like this is about the only thing that make me rue being a Mac user... :(
Perhaps I should buy myself a laptop just for that.. ;)

I found the miniature railway routes and rollingstock sometime ago. Fantastic work by the individuals concerned.

Unfortunately only having dialup it is rather impractical to try and download. Are they available on CD from anywhere?

On the subject of miniature railways I can exclusively reveal that BucksTS is looking at building a 7.25" route - the first available for MSTS. I know that Peter (asmin here) is looking at doing the same - but I beleive that he is not going to release his.

I've already got a model of our 7.25" driving trolley in the virtual works, and some sit-astride vehicles are to follow. People will be added via freight anims.

Loco wise I have 3 planned - a model of our 7.25" maxitrak loco, a model loosely based on a Moors Valley loco - probably ex MVR loco 'Sir Goss' and a large diesel.

I'm planning that the route will be about 1 mile long with a complex track plan, possibly something like the Beer Heights line.

Anticipated release is very soon! Sorry to not be more specific - but this is ground breaking stuff with the sim and I have no idea how long it will take to get right. This product replaces the payware Kirklees Light Railway route.

Price wise a possibility is £5 as a paid download, containing the locos an route. The rolling stock will be uploaded for free due to liscence problems.

All will be available from our website at www.bucksts.com (why not join our forums :P ) once available.

For people who are interested in the Kirklees Light Railway Expansion Pack for Microsoft Train Simulator, can see and learn more about it by going to the Kirklees Light Railway Gala Weekend where Dave Martin creator of the Kirklees Pack will be displaying the pack and be happy to answer questions to do with the pack.

Find out more here:

But will Dave ever finish it? :D

Great news anyway. For those who'ld like to see 7.25" in MSTS there is a poll for which loco BucksTS should make at 72.freebb.com/bucksts - please join and vote.

I did, voted for Claudine, as any loco in such an elaborate livery should be shown to all! Love the colour name, improved engine green! The story behind it goes thus:

William Stroudley, one of the LB&SCR loco designers, was colourblind. So when he picked the colour he thought it was green. Many tried to tell him otherwise, but he was a stubborn b*****d!
