The sun was shining, so we dug the bicycles out of the garage and cycled up through Leicester along the riverbank to Abbey Park, home of the Leicester Society of Model Engineers. The main track is a 5'' / 7.25'' mixed gauge loop of around 2000 ft, with a shorter, elevated track within. This was the final running day of the year; two public trains were in operation, plus a selection of smaller locos on the inner track.
