Craig, I'm guessing your 47 is petrol/hydrostatic? It looks (form what little I could see
), and sounds, like it may have been built by a friend of mine Brian Lomas (mainly the mechanics - the body is from someone else but cannot remember who) who has built nine of them, one of which I drive at his railway http://www.geocities.com/dragonrailway.Excuse me for being a bit of a know-it-all bore but yours would be a 2003-ish model fitted with a Honda 9hp engine and Eaton 7? Sold to a chap (IIRC) in Huddersfield who then re-sold it on the 7.25" Soc. website? Very nice engines - Flying Dragon bears the brunt of the work at DMR and after 8 years hard work, still runs well and causes no major trouble. She is used as the first loco you train on as a driver due to her simplicity and reliability. Two more of these locos are under the 'care' (ahem) of Brookside/Hills Miniature Railways and another is at Chester. Dom |
