Hello,

I thought I'd start by following the trend and introducing myself here before creating havoc on the rest of the forum :P

My name is Dominic Greenop; I am a regular volunteer driver at the 7.25" Dragon Miniature Railway in Marple, near Manchester during holidays. The website (which needs SERIOUS updating) is http://www.geocities.com/dragonrailway.

I am also a member of the East Somerset SMEE (operators of the Bath and West Railway) - pics of me driving at the 2006 Bath and West Show can be found at http://www.essmee.org.uk, among other places.

My interests lie in the Ratty - possibly the best 15" railway in the world, Heywood locos (to be further nurtured), narrow gauge railways around the 2' area (though not discounting others), narrow gauge outline miniature railways of mainly 7.25" and 5". My favourite 7.25" loco has to be the Tinkerbell - powerful, versatile and Heywood-derived.

I am currently in Plymouth studying Civil and Coastal Engineering at University; my family moved to Somerset in 1999 (hence ESSMEE), but I regularly visit my Dad in Manchester (hence DMR). Visiting the Buckfastleigh Miniature Railway a couple of months ago, I gleaned that major developments are planned this winter, including a new main station, and full commissioning of the Romulus there. A second visit is planned soon - more info then.

Cheers for now.

Dom Greenop

You do realise there's a lovely narrow gauge railway an hour or so's bus ride from Plymouth?
