Hi Unlike my fellow East Somerset SMEE member Glastonrail (Hi Dominic!) I joined in about Tinkerbells yesterday before introducing myself - so had better do so now. I am retired in sunny (!) Dorset and have only been into miniature railways for just over a year - though into steam since childhood. It started with a Tich - 7 1/4 purchased on ebay with all the kit (fantastic runner) - quickly followed by 60ft of track in the garden. I joined the Weymouth & District MES ( www.weymouth-dmes.co.uk ) where a great bunch of poeple operate a 500 ft loop. After about 6 months a 5" Pannier tank joined Tich and then in October, I also joined the ESSMEE team building the Bath & West Railway. About two weeks later I acquired a beautiful 7 1/4" Tinkerbell (previously Primrose) to run there (she is too big for Weymouth). To say I am on a steep learning curve is an understatement so I look forward to learning much more on this great Forum. Cheers Chris |

Hi Chris!!
Welcome to the Forum.I congratulate you on your purchase - having seen her in HQ under the sheet I cannot wait to see Ladybird in steam and (hopefully) drive her. Stage 3 (actually 2b) is due for completion by the end of Feb, unlike Echills Wood, which is now complete (bar ballasting and fettling). Plenty of time to train up for B&W 2007 at the end of May!! Regards, Dom Greenop DMR/B&WR |
