Hi everybody,

My name is Adam and I came across this site while searching for information on the closure of Dobwalls, I was very shocked by the news and never imagined that this would ever happen to this line.

My favourite miniature railway route is Dobwalls and I once had the great privilege to drive 'Queen of Wyoming' over the magnificent Sherman Hill route.
Although I last visited the park in August 2003, I am hoping to go to Falmouth University so I am hoping I will be able to become a driver on the line during my time at university, which will fill one of my ambitions.

Cheers everyone! :D

Hi Adam,

Welcome to the forum! What an appropriate user name for our 100th member :D

The Dobwalls closure came as a shock to many, I suppose we all tend to think that things will only ever change for the better in the world on miniature railways. Thankfully in the internet age it is becoming easier to share information, pictures and memories amongst like minded folk, ensuring the memories survive.

Hello Adam, welcome to the forums. Sly username you have I must say! :P

It has to be said that I have never ridden on the Dobwalls lines, though I have wanted to. Seems I've missed out on it's full extent really . :(

Impressive motive power they have there though, I must say.

Once again, welcome!

Regards,

Hi Adam,
Dobwalls was my introduction to minature railways and I had the pleasure of visiting the lines for several years, including taking my children there last year for their first visit.
I'm hoping that when they reopen they will be offering the oppurtunity to drive the locos again.
cheers
Tom
