Does anyone know what is happening at this site? The track appears to be all in place but part has been covered by an adventure playground. Is the line ever going to run again? Just curious |

When did you visit the line Lambrail? The line has recently been shorthened quite a bit possibly due to this new playground, but as far as I know still operating as it always does with two IC locos. Any other news anyone? (Charles, you know quite a bit about Willen?) Thanks Peter |

The new Aerial Ropes course has covered the track that ran behind the trees. As a result a point has been put in on the lakeside line to allow trains to use the loop that goes under the road bridge (if you want a diagram let me know...) As far as I know it is still running, I was in the area in December and saw the train from the road. Perhaps someone at MKMES will know more? |

There's been one carriage body stored outside for years, slowly succumbing to the elements - is there more than one outside now? To be honest the railway has deteriorated in the last few years, as seems to happen to many miniature railways due to lack of an enthusiastic operator. Considering it is (supposidly) at one of the top ten free tourist attractions in the UK it really could be a lot better than it is now (and also longer - there were originally plans to extend in the early days). In its heyday they could fill a 6 or 7 carriage train for most of the summer, now I doubt that could be done with the 4 carriages there except on the August bank holiday. I'm possibly up that way around Easter time, I'll pop in and have a look... |
