Does anyone know any details of this line in Pavenham, Bedfordshire? I believe it was 9.5" gauge. Are there any websites which have details?

Thanks

I believe it still exists, but is a private line. It may open once a year for charity - If anyone knows if this is the case I would be grateful for the date. As I run on the same gauge I would be pleased to have contact with its owner.

(replied to your other post before spotting this one). :)

Regards
Martin

I would be greatly interested if anyone does know of an open day on this line - I have seen photos of the railway in the past and it appeared to have the Midland Mainline as a backdrop!.

The loco in the photo I use as an Avatar was apparently built to 9.5" gauge and was later rebuilt to 7.25". It came from Lavendon, a few miles from Pavenham. It does seem that there was (Relatively) quite a lot of 9.5" gauge in Bedfordshire. Is it a co-incidence or were they all somehow connected?

The open day at the Bartlemas Farm Railway in Pavenham, Bedfordshire is [or was] usually in June.
eg: 1996:16/6. 1999: 20/6
It is in connection with local gardens open day in the village, so the date should be able to be found by looking the NGS handbook (yellow paper book, look in WH Smith).

Peter.
