Shifting Sands played host to three visiting locomotives over the weekend, all of which had 'timeshifted' from Andrew Blackwell's 1970s North East coast based scheme...

The Pacific, test running in 'works condition':

Andrew's 2-8-2, looking suprisingly at home and suprising Andrew in making it around a 9" curve:

It was very enjoyable to have a few visiting locos to play with, even if only for a few minutes and to finally both meet Andrew and also to see his handywork close-up. You have definately been selling yourself short Andrew :D Your reputation is spreading as you were identified straight away!

As ever, a fantastic set of pics, Colin, and fantastic models by the pair of you.

If only I could get that level of detail with my 16mm!!

Cheers,

Dom

Smashing stuff there, these slimline models do give a good contrast to your brute of a narrow gauge tank Colin :D

Do enlighten me as to who else ID'ed me, or are you referring to your instantly spotting me as i arrived?
