Reply to Alex - lots of sub 7 1/4" from a Speedy down to some cracking finescale one offs.

I've been trying not to get drawn into this one because of what I do, but rest assured with me on the staff, Miniature Railways are getting a fair hearing at York, just like everything it takes time and money. Plus I have Orion up here in Shildon to look at every day...

I think you are talking a lot of money when buying the Garratt Jordan.

A museum dedicated to Miniature Railway is a great idea, and Cleethorpes would be a very suitable venue.

Topic Split

Discussion on Chris Shaw's idea for a dedicated miniature railway museum can now be found here, which makes Peter's comment above a little out of place but I can't split an individual post into two topics!

I know I said I'd not want to talk about work here (and I still don't really, but we're in cross-over land at the moment on this forum, just hope I don't have to resign as a result like I did on the 16mm forum because everyone asked me too many work related issues - also why I don't post on Nat Pres!), but a request to borrow an item should be made to Helen Batchelor, Loans Officer at the NRM. However, as regards the miniature locos they'd all require certification and some work doing, and we just don't have the people or finances to manage that, especially just for a weekend. However, if you want to ask, go ahead.

Cheers
Anthony

Jordan, Theres no where to put it, It won't unload easily, i wouldn't trust anyone there with it except me Brian or Marcus and it would probably struggle on the 40' radii. Don't attempt it.

If you want one, Bretts is for sale!
