Finalised track layout for the carriage shed yard - note that the rails for CS3 and CS4 have not been fastened to the sleepers or fishplated up when the picture was taken! :D

Cheers for that may well be able to make it more prototypical, a much simpler layout to recreate in MSTS than the 3 way point!

Just for clarification -

http://cumbria.fotopic.net/p47609668.html

Post ballast packing, January 3rd. The point behind me (for road 1) is still the same right-hander.

Cheers for that I will try and get it looking something more like that in the sim soon.

And in the station

We set out past the shed (note the carriage shed layout- as close as i could get it to Eliot's recent pictures of the alterations).

Running across Barrow Marsh

And through Muncaster Mill

Entering Miteside Loop.

Cracking shots there David B)

I've also posted a few pics of my own at http://mvtsscreenshots.fotopic.net/c1472327.html . Please note however, that these shots use freeware stock, rather than the models which will appear in the pack.

I'm impressed with those models of the Shelagh and the maxis Very good ;)
Not sure about the top end of Miteside though, looks like its a right hand point when it should be a left and the line curves right straight away towards Katie Caddy when looking east. But otherwise very good

Very nice indeed, but where's the "Rat Coach"?

(The "Rat Coach" is no. 133, the Maxi Brake coach, in dark blue livery with cream roof and La'al Ratty character decals on the bodysides)

P.S. I hope I'm going to receive a full individual coach fleet to play with!

EDIT - Funny that you should put the point at Miteside east in the wrong way around... the company whom the railway have just bought some points from delivered a wrong-handed one for Miteside the other week!

EDIT 2 - The ground seems to have caved away underneath Points 17 and the first set of points into the carriage shed! The bridge is still about 20 yards south of where the drop is here!

I think this is some perfect world where it doesn't exist

Luckily i've only ridden in it in summer, though it must be annoying cos the passengers are heated in 133 arn't they

If you keep the flap to the heater in the van open then you do get a fair bit of heat coming out into the van, but if there's a wind and you're heading down the line it sort of cancels all the heat out! Plus the fact that the off-side door in the van leaks water from the top whenever it rains more than three drops at a time...

Out of interest, will there be a passenger view available in the pack? I'm sure that it wouldn't be too hard to recreate. If you need anything in the way of cab-views, I'm more than happy to grab some reference photos for you to model them with.

I think Tim may well be doing the rat coach- the brake is not in that set yet an he assures me its on the way, dunno about livery though, we'll have to wait and see.........

Ravenglass is not complete yet by any means earthwork wise, I'll have to construct some artificial embankments, as the auto embankment feature fills the road in at Ravenglass in the shed areas when its applied!

The Miteside loop top end is another point where MSTS has had to sacrafice authenticity a bit to work, the points set out so that passing trains will work OK.

Passenger views are available in the semis and saloons, one will be sorted in the Maxis. Cabviews are something to be sorted int he not too distant future, but if you're willing to gather few reference pics for them Eliot, I'm sure we'll be calling on your services Thanks ;)

Coach Numbers- so far each coach is individually numbered- so all will be in the end! The opens are to be done yet.

A few more pics to be going on with..............

We join River Mite heading southbound with a mixed 8 coach set at Irton Road;

VERY nice, David - very realistic. The addition of buildings will certainly add to the effect.

Cheers,

Looking great there, disregarding the fact that Health and Safety would have a fit with those coach formations! :P

I'll be making sure that all the coaches look ok... I'm one of the few sad people who know a) what type each coach is; B) approximately what year it was built; c) which rake it is in during high season; d) where it is on the railway at this time and e) if it's braked or not. Yes, I admit it - I'm an anorak.

Activities... can we have one where two Shearings coaches turn up for the 1130 on a busy summer day at 1128 with 100 old biddies? :D Objective of activity - see how long it takes for them all to get on and see if you depart nearer to the 1150's departure time than the 1130's. B)
